“It’s important for us, working mothers, to feel safe in the workplace and not be devalued as an employee. Balancing work and family is not easy, but we try to do it with strength and grace every day,” says FWD Product Marketing Senior Manager, Camille Jimenez.

Full-time working moms in the Philippines need support and empowerment. Aside from financial constraints, which is what sends most moms back to work, women in the workplace have expressed feelings of being held back in their careers or being treated differently due to their plans to have children or spend more time with family.

FWD understands this challenge and continues to create an empowering workplace for working mothers. “I’m glad to work in an organization like FWD, where our contributions are valued, and our hard work and dedication are recognized. Behind every working mom is our child who looks up to us as their role model, and an empowering work environment greatly helps us become that inspiration to them,” Camille adds.

Mothers are nurturers, their dedication to their careers and families is truly inspiring. In an era where working moms are becoming more of the norm rather than the exception, companies must step up and show support for their team members who are responsible for nurturing our future generations. Together, we can create work environments where mothers can thrive.

“Empowered women embrace their womanhood in all aspects by celebrating their identity, while also acknowledging the challenges that come with it,” remarks Kelsea Anne Caballa, Digital Graduate of FWD.

Women empowerment has been a major focus in the recent years – and while there has been significant growth in feminism and gender empowerment in many areas, there’s still much work to be done to ensure women are given equal rights and opportunities.

“If we prioritize having equal representation of women in all leadership positions, then we can open up conversations and make actionable plans towards gender-related issues in the Philippines,” Kelsea suggests.

Having a diverse and inclusive culture, Kelsea recognizes FWD’s efforts to ensure workplace inclusivity is always in place. “FWD has always been supportive of gender equality by providing equal opportunities for everyone. As a young woman who’s just starting out in my career, it’s inspiring for me to work in an environment where there are women leaders that I can look up to,” she says.

As the Filipino saying goes, “Malayo pa, pero malayo na.” We’ve already come a long way, but with our continued efforts, we can all work together and push for a more progressive future on women empowerment and gender equality.
