Aerial Yoga Teacher
AYTTC Batch 2
Teacher Elsie’s Aerial Yoga Teacher Training would be a 9 out of 10 for me. Despite the short span of time, the learning was comprehensive, and not an ounce of quality was sacrificed. Corrections were made in real-time, and pertinent information was shared the moment it was needed. Safety and comfort were always emphasized.
I especially loved the concept of slow, strong, steady movements to achieve poses, rather than rushing to the peak. It’s really the process that makes you stronger and more able, leading to better asanas and a deeper practice.
The anatomy lessons gave me knowledge about how every bone and muscle involved in a flow or asana—whether for flexion, extension, adduction, abduction, etc.—has its purpose in building strength, flexibility, and mobility. I now have a more curated understanding of the ebb and flow of movement, allowing for greater ease and respect for the stream of energy throughout every practice.
Teacher Chaka is a dynamic force to reckon with. She is gentle with corrections but places strong emphasis on important topics. The way she relays information is highly engaging. She does not coddle your growth as a teacher; instead, she takes your strengths to the next level. Her critiques are straightforward yet essential, and she is generous with praise.
Yes! I would recommend it to anyone who wishes to get to know themselves more through Aerial Yoga. Teacher Chaka’s curated training strikes the right balance between discipline and grace. If you’re ready to be saturated with anatomy, go for it! It’s clearly an advantage for teaching practice. The rest of the course was a breeze, as long as you have the passion and purpose. This AYTT, along with Teacher Chaka’s unwavering support and presence, was definitely one of the highlights of my year.
