We've been having so many road events lately, here's a gentle reminder to be mentally present when driving. When your speed is increasing with your anger, remind yourself that there are more important things ahead. πŸ™‚

Here are some essential road safety tips:

For Pedestrians:

1. Use crosswalks and follow traffic signals.
2. Be visible to drivers, especially at night (wear bright or reflective clothing).
3. Avoid distractions (no phone usage while walking).
4. Make eye contact with drivers before crossing.

For Cyclists:

1. Wear helmets and follow traffic rules.
2. Use designated bike lanes when available.
3. Be visible with lights and reflective gear at night.
4. Signal turns and follow traffic signals.

For Drivers:

1. Follow speed limits and adjust to road conditions.
2. Avoid distractions (no texting or talking on phone).
3. Wear seatbelts and ensure all passengers do.
4. Maintain vehicle safety (regular checks).
5. Be cautious of pedestrians, cyclists, and other vehicles.

In General:

1. Stay alert and focused on the road.
2. Follow traffic rules and signals.
3. Be patient and courteous to other road users.
4. Use safety gear (helmets, seatbelts).

Remember, someone important is waiting for you and your fellow road users. Keep Calm. πŸ™‚

Getting rid of the habit may be a daily decision, but so does deciding what to eat. Choose wisely. 😊

❗️Maging matalino sa pagpili ng pagkakagastusan. PAGKAIN o YOSING NAKAKA-KANSER? ❗️

Imbis na bumili ka ng nakaka-kanser na yosi, ibili mo na lang ng bigas o masustansyang pagkain ang pera mo.

β€˜Wag sunugin ang pera sa bisyo. Lalo na kung maraming umaasa sayo.

Why do you get the flu vaccine every year?

Flu strains mutate every year, and our supply of vaccines get updated to target these strains. By getting up to date with your vaccines, you gain protection from the latest common flu strains, prevent spread of infection and contribute to the herd immunity. Since your vaccination prevents outbreaks and protects those who are unable to receive vaccines due to medical reasons.

The Emergency Room is not the same as your usual clinic consult where you are served in chronological order if arrival. It's the part of the hospital that sees patients who need immediate medical attention for severe, life-threatening, or urgent conditions.

I've listed down some examples of when you might need to be seen in the ER.

1. Chest Pain or Difficulty Breathing: If you experience severe chest pain, tightness, or difficulty breathing, seek immediate medical attention.

2. Severe Head Injury or Trauma: If you or someone you know has experienced a severe head injury, has lost consciousness, or shows signs of confusion or disorientation.

3. Severe Bleeding or Wounds: If you're experiencing severe bleeding that doesn't stop after 10-15 minutes of pressure, or if you have a deep wound that requires stitches.

4. Stroke Symptoms: If you or someone you know is experiencing sudden numbness or weakness in the face, arm, or leg, difficulty speaking, or sudden vision changes.

5. Severe Abdominal Pain: If you experience severe abdominal pain, vomiting blood, or bloody stools.

6. Seizures: If you or someone you know has had a seizure, especially if it's their first seizure or if they have a history of seizure disorders.

7. Allergic Reactions: If you experience severe allergic reactions, such as difficulty breathing, rapid heartbeat, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.

8. Burns: If you've experienced severe burns, such as third-degree burns, or if you've inhaled smoke or fumes.

9. Sudden Confusion or Disorientation: If you or someone you know is experiencing sudden confusion, disorientation, or altered mental status.

10. Suicidal Thoughts or Intentions: If you or someone you know is experiencing suicidal thoughts or intentions, seek immediate help.

The ER is staffed by doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals who are trained to handle emergencies and provide fast, lifesaving care, so if your condition doesn't fall under those, it might be best to avoid the ER and see your primary physician. They will be able to assess you and refer you to the ER if they see the need to. Don't wait for things to get worse before seeing a physician. πŸ™‚
