Strengthening Our Healthcare System: Local Health Board Convenes at RHU Talisayan
Yesterday, March 18, 2026, the Local Health Board (LHB) held its regular meeting at the RHU Talisayan Conference Hall to discuss critical advancements for our municipalityโs health sector.
The meeting was officially called to order by our Chairperson, Mayor Ciriaco A. Talines, followed by the roll call and reading of minutes by Gay B. Ardanas, MD.
Key Agenda Highlights:
Infrastructure & Funding: Finalizing requirements for the Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP) and the establishment of a Trust Fund for PhilHealth and Special Health Funds.
Workforce Expansion: Moving forward with the creation of an IT Officer (Health Program Manager) position and filling the Nurse-1 Plantilla.
Sanitation Milestone: Discussion on the resolution to declare Talisayan as Grade 1 Zero Open Defecation (ZOD) Compliant.
Policy Development: Creating vital ordinances for Mental Health, Adolescent Health, and Disaster Risk Reduction Management for Health (DRRM-H).
Other Vital Updates:
Public Safety: The Chief of Police of Talisayan discussed road safety and the strict implementation of smoking ordinances.
Health Alerts: Ms. Lady Vette Cubillas (newly designated ESU/DSO) provided updates on Dengue cases and the reactivation of the Dengue Task Force.
Performance Tracking: Ms. Liezl Sorilla presented the LGU Health Scorecard.
