TSUNAMI / STORM SURGE WARNING

7.6 Magnitude Earthquake off Davao Oriental
9:43 AM of October 10, 2025

Following the magnitude 7.6 earthquake that struck off the coast of Davao Oriental, authorities warn of possible tsunami or storm surge that may affect coastal communities in Eastern Visayas.

Areas advised to take precautionary measures:

Eastern Samar: Borongan City, Guiuan, Hernani, General MacArthur, Quinapondan, and nearby coastal towns;

Leyte Province: Abuyog, Dulag, Tolosa, Palo, Tacloban City, and nearby coastal areas;

Southern Leyte: Maasin City, Padre Burgos, Sogod, Liloan, San Francisco, and nearby coastlines;

Northern Samar: Laoang and nearby eastern coastal barangays.

Residents along the coast are strongly advised to evacuate to higher ground immediately and stay away from beaches, shorelines, and ports.
Do not return until the official “all clear” is issued by PHIVOLCS, NDRRMC, or local disaster risk reduction offices.
