Congratulations Mayor Paul Dumlao. 🎉🎊🙌
Something I did not expect. In 2022, when I became the City Mayor of Surigao, I had no prior experience in public service. But despite that lack of experience, I had the advantage of strong leadership training, particularly in servant leadership, and a deep desire to create meaningful impact in the community. I owe this to the JCI movement.
I started out as a member, then became a Local President, a Regional Vice President, and eventually served as National Treasurer. All those years became my training ground that prepared me for this role as a public servant.
Now, on JCI’s 110th year in the Asia Pacific, 110 influential members were chosen from over twenty countries. It was such an honor to be selected among them, together with world presidents, business leaders, a senator, a congressman, and even a royal. Even more humbling was being personally awarded by the 2025 JCI World President Keisuke Shimoyamada and 2025 JCI World Executive Vice President Mark David during the recognition ceremony.
To be named one of the Asia Pacific Influencers is a privilege. But in truth, it is JCI that has influenced me. JCI inspired me to become a better leader, a servant leader.
To my JCI Surigao Nickel brothers, with our very own 2025 JCI Philippines National President Thirdie Chua at the helm, thank you for this humbling recognition.
