Sleeping on time can indeed contribute to a more youthful appearance.

🌿Cell regeneration - Sleep helps regulate cell regeneration, which can improve skin texture and tone.
🌿Reduced puffiness - Adequate sleep can help reduce puffiness and dark circles under the eyes.
🌿Improved skin hydration - Sleep helps regulate hydration levels, which can leave skin looking plumper and more radiant.

Here's more, getting enough sleep can also;

🍂Reduce stress - High stress levels can lead to premature aging.

🍂Boost antioxidant production - Sleep helps regulate antioxidant production, which can protect skin from damage.

How bad is type 2 diabetes?
It depends on how bad it gets. Type 2 progresses slowly (it’s caused by increasing resistance to insulin caused by eating too much carbohydrate over a long period of time, so it tends to set in later in life).

Catch it early and maybe it can be managed just by watching the carb level in your diet. So just cut down on things containing sugar, flour (including pasta), potatoes, rice and alcohol. If it goes further, it might need medication (the usual one is metformin) - my brother-in-law eats far too much so he’s ended up diabetic and has to take this and dapagliflozin. Some form of low-carb or keto diet would certainly be helpful.

If it gets worse than this, there might start to be actual effects. Diabetic neuropathy can set in in the feet - you lose feeling in them. If this progresses further, it spreads up the legs and you can eventually need amputation. It can also cause diabetic retinopathy - damage to the back of the eyeball, eventually leading to blindness. These are the two things the British NHS tests for if you’re diabetic or at risk of it from a high blood sugar level - mine is right on the borderline so they keep an eye on it and I’ve had these tests.

If left untreated, this gets worse and eventually kills you.

It will also help enormously to lose weight. If you’re burning off all the calories you eat, not only do you not get fat, you also aren’t building up excess carbs so diabetes doesn’t get a grip on you. So it’s yet another reason to do something about your weight problem if you have one.
