Should Pregnant Women Deworm? Yes o! Here’s Why!😳🪱💉

Wait... Deworming in pregnancy?!
Yes mama! It’s not just for children. Even pregnant women need to deworm — at the right time.

Let’s talk about it 👇

🪱 Why Is Deworming Important in Pregnancy?

During pregnancy, worms (especially hookworms) can:

❌ Steal your blood and cause anemia
❌ Reduce your appetite
❌ Make you weak and tired
❌ Affect your baby’s growth
❌ Increase your risk of poor weight gain or miscarriage in severe cases

💊 When Should a Pregnant Woman Deworm?

👉 After the first trimester (usually from the second trimester — 13 weeks and above)
Your doctor may prescribe a safe deworming medicine like mebendazole or albendazole.

👉Is It Safe?
Yes! But ONLY when prescribed by a doctor or nurse.

Don’t just go and buy worm medicine from the chemist anyhow o. Some drugs are not safe for baby in the first trimester.

🍲 Signs You Might Need Deworming:

Constant hunger even after eating

Itchy a**s, especially at night

Passing worms in stool

Losing weight during pregnancy

Low blood level despite eating well

✅ Deworming helps restore your strength, improve blood levels, and help baby grow well.

💬 Mama, your body is feeding TWO people. Don’t let worms chop what belongs to you and your baby 😩
Ask your healthcare provider about deworming at your next ANC visit.

🩺 Not All C-Sections Are the Same! 🤰✂️
Let’s talk about the different types of Cesarean (CS) cuts most people don’t understand.
They call it “just CS” but there’s a whole science behind those cuts! 👇👇

📌 Horizontal Cs, Vertical Cs & Abdominal Cs — what’s the difference?
Here’s the gist — and I promise you’ll learn something new today! 💡

🔹 1. The Horizontal Cs (aka Low Transverse CS)
This is the most common and preferred type of CS.
✅ A side-to-side (horizontal) cut made low on the ut£rus
✅ It bleeds less
✅ Heals better
✅ Lower r!sk of future complications
✅ Best for women who might want to try vagin@l birth (VBAC) next time

🧠 Most women who’ve had a CS had this type, even if the skin cut looks different!

🔹 2. The Vertical Cs (aka Classical CS)
This is RARE and only done in special emergencies 😮
A top-to-bottom (vertical) cut made high on the ut£rus
Used when: ✔️ The baby is extremely preterm
✔️ There's an emergency
✔️ There's fibroid or placenta blocking the lower part
But note:
❌ More bleeding
❌ Higher r!sk of rupture in future pregnancies
❌ No vag!nal delivery allowed after this one

🔹 3. The Abdominal Cs (What You See Outside!)
Now let’s clear the confusion 👉
Just because you see a horizontal or vertical scar on your skin doesn’t mean that’s how your ut£rus was cut.

✅ Abdominal CS refers to the cut on your tummy wall (not ut£rus)
It can be: — Pfannenstiel incision (horizontal, bikini line – most common)
— Midline incision (vertical, from below belly button down – used in emergencies)

🔍 So yes, a woman can have a horizontal cut on the skin, but a vertical cut on the ut£rus! That’s why doctors always check the ut£rus type before allowing a trial of labor in future births.

🧠 So next time someone says "CS is CS"... Tell them: NOPE! There’s levels to this!

👉 Knowing your own CS type is powerful. It helps your doctor plan the safest delivery next time, and it helps YOU make informed choices.

😫 WHY IS MY PRIVATE PART DARK IN PREGNANCY?
Is it dirt? Is something wrong? Let’s talk!👇

Pregnant mamas, listen:
That darkening of your va**na, inner thighs, neck, armpits, and face is called hyperpigmentation — and it’s completely normal!

📌 What causes it?
🔹 Hormones! Especially estrogen and progesterone
🔹 Increased blood flow to the pelvic area
🔹 It usually fades after birth — no panic needed!

❌ It’s not dirt
❌ It’s not infection
❌ No need to scrub or bleach ❗

✅ Drink water
✅ Moisturize
✅ Avoid harsh soaps

💥 And please — don’t let anyone shame you.
Your body is changing because it’s growing LIFE. That’s powerful. 👑
