BENGUET SNARES 10-12-3 GOLD-SILVER-BRONZE ON DAY 1

The Benguet Stingers got off to a good start on the first day of stiff competitions of the ongoing 2025 CARAA Meet as the host province snared 10 gold, 12 silver, and 3 bronze medals behind Baguio City which has 27-13-12 G-S-B medal tally as of 9:00 pm of February 24, based on the partial official tally released by DepEd CAR's official CARAA website.

The elementary boys' athletes netted 5 gold medals on the first day thanks to the gold medalists in the 400 meter run, 110 meter hurdles, chess team blitz game, and the swimming's 100 meter backstroke, and 50 meter butterfly.

The elementary girls' athletics produced two gold medals from the discus throw and the 400 meter run while the distaff side in the secondary level got one gold from the discus throw event.

The secondary boys contributed two gold medals for the day from the victories of the woodpushers in the Chess Blitz individual and team events. - Mac B. Malanes

UPDATE ON COVID-19!
13 August 2020

The Municipality's 12th and 13th confirmed case of COVID-19, are both teachers in Barangay Camp 4;
1. 31-years-old, Male, a resident of Hydro 1, Camp 6.
2. 39-years-old, Female, a resident of Lablab 2

In order to facilitate complete and efficient contact tracing, and to ensure the safety and security of persons who may have come into contact with these new confirmed case, Sitios Benmetao, lablab 1, lablab 2, watering, national road, goldstream, balococ, maramal, Forestry, Hydro 1 and camp 6 are now placed under localized lockdown, effective 10PM tonight, August 13, 2020 until further notice.

Residents are advised to stay home, the use of Mall and Market Pass is hereby suspended. Those who need to access basic necessities can go to the Sari-sari stores or they must coordinate with their Barangay Officials. All are advised to take extra precautionary measures and follow basic health protocols when going outside residence.

Exit and entry in the area is restricted to APORs (Authorized Person Outside Residence) and those with medical emergencies, however, those APORs who have direct contact with the positive case patient will be included in the lockdown until cleared by the Contact Tracing Team
