🚨 St. Paul Hospital of Tuguegarao hosted a successful Stroke Team Training & Skills Workshop! 🩺 Led by Stroke Champions Dr. Marlene Cinco, Dr. Jane Lara, Dr. Vanessa Calimag & Dr. Nivard Babaran, alongside the SPH Stroke Team and nursing staff, the event featured virtual learning and role-play simulations. In collaboration with the ANGELS Initiative and SSP Tuguegarao Chapter, 134 participants from Tuguegarao, Tabuk, Camalaniugan, and Ilagan advanced their stroke care skills. A major step forward in improving stroke care in the region! 💙

Part III. EMS Training and Workshop

The SSP Tuguegarao chapter, along with the CDRRMO head Dr Roderick Ramirez, Tuguegarao City Health Officer Dr Robin Zingapan, EMS providers and responders, ANGELS personnel, and ER representatives of all ASRH certified institutions here in City, have once again conducted a blinded simulation for the different emergency responders locally.

Alignment with current EMS protocols were made and emphasized, and despite the heavy traffic during rush hours, our EMS responders were able to dispatch patients to the nearest stroke-ready hospitals within 7 to 15 minutes!

We are very grateful to all the participants, and all stroke champions for the success of this activity! It is our goal to improve the stroke services in our City, beginning in the community.

Three (3) hospitals in Tuguegarao City were awarded GOLD Status by the World Stroke Organization (WSO) Angels during the Stroke Society of the Philippines Annual Convention.

Congratulations Cagayan Valley Medical Center, St Paul Hospital-Tuguegarao and Cagayan United Doctors Medical Center for the big achievements on stroke care and management!

Hats off to all stroke champions (neurologists, stroke/ ICU nurses, resident physicians) and the administrative staff of ALL institutions for these achievements.

St. Paul Hospital, Inc. has recently conducted ANGELS Academy Multidisciplinary Meeting and Simulation Workshop last September 20, 2023. This activity was attended by resident physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals from SPH and other hospitals who wishes to undergo certification as an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital.

We would like to thank the organizers and all neurologists who devoted their time for the lectures and the workshop. 🙏🏻
