John 1:19-28. “…And he confessed it and did not deny it; and what he confessed was: “I am not the Christ.’…” We witnessed John’s humility in today’s gospel knowing fully his role and limitations. He did not cling to attention, prestige, or influence. Instead, he pointed toward Someone greater. Today, we are often tempted by recognition in our work place, school, community, or even public approval in social media. May we imitate John showing that a person can be deeply significant without being the center of attention. True purpose does not come from self-promotion but from faithfulness to one’s calling. A blessed Friday dear Kalakbays! 😇😇😇

Luke 2:16-21 “…And all that heard, wondered; and at those things that were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these words, pondering them in her heart.…” Today we commemorate the solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We see her silently reflecting in front of Jesus. While others spoke, she pondered, allowing meaning to grow with time. Some events in our lives are meant to be treasured slowly. Some answers come through silence, prayer, and patient trust. Let us ponder divine hand in every season and remain hopeful as we welcome the new year. Hope smiles from the threshold of the year 2026, whispering, 'It will be better’! Happy New Year dear Kalakbays! 🎉🎉🎉

John 1:1-18. “…All things came to be through him, and without him nothing came to be…” John in today’s gospel reminds us that life is not an accident or chance. Many things happened to us this year but the message is clear, that our lives are rooted in something deeper than circumstances. We may be imperfect but the good news is that grace does not wait for a perfect version of us. May we end this year with gratitude and face the new year with grit and grace, knowing that the Light is already ahead of us, shining still. A blessed Wednesday and last day of 2025 dear Kalakbays! 😇😇😇

Luke 2:36-40. “…And then she was a widow, even to her eighty-fourth year. And without departing from the temple, she was a servant to fasting and prayer, night and day…” Anna the prophetess in today’s gospel reminds us that age, status, or personal history do not disqualify anyone from having a meaningful purpose in life. Her life also speaks to those who have experienced loss. Death of our loved ones, broken relationships, or unfulfilled dreams can tempt people to close their hearts but Anna remained faithful. May we then imitate her. Rather than letting sorrow define us, let us allow it to deepen our dependence to the Almighty. Pain does not have the final word when it is surrendered. A blessed Tuesday dear Kalakbays! 🙏🙏🙏

Luke 2:22-35 “…he also took him up, into his arms, and he blessed God and said: Now you may dismiss your servant in peace, O Lord, according to your word…” After long years of waiting, Simeon finally saw Jesus. The Presentation of Jesus in today’s gospel reminds us of Simeon who waited with hope. He has lived long enough to see disappointments, unanswered prayers, and changing times but he never lets go of trust. In a culture that demands quick results/success/fame, Simeon reminds us that some of the most important things in life require patience. God is at work even when progress seems slow. A blessed Monday dear Kalakbays! 😇😇😇

Matthew 2:13-15, 19-23 “Joseph rose and took the child and his mother by night and departed for Egypt...” We reflect in today’s gospel about the challenge to the Holy Family. Imagine a peaceful life was interrupted by threat and fear, forcing them to leave everything familiar behind. Joseph listened and acted, not for himself alone, but for those entrusted to him. Mary walked beside him in trust. Together, they protected life. Their story reminds us that family is not defined by comfort, but by commitment. Let us cherish our families as God’s precious gift. Let’s pray that our home becomes a place where faith is lived, love is shared, and hope is always nurtured. A blessed Sunday and Holy Family Day my dear Kalakbays! 😇😇😇

John 20:1A, 2-8. “..:And the napkin that had been over his head, not placed with the linen cloths, but in a separate place, wrapped up by itself. Then the other disciple, who had arrived first at the tomb, also entered. And he saw and believed.” In today’s gospel, we reflected that faith of the disciples begun with the empty tomb. In our lives too, we encounter many “empty tomb” moments in our relations to our family, work, community, and to others. Our first reaction is often fear or confusion. Like Mary, we rush to conclusions shaped by pain rather than possibility. We assume something precious has been taken away, not realizing that God may be preparing something entirely new. Embrace divine plan and believe! Faith begins with an empty tomb. Goodnight dear Kalakbays! 😇😇😇

Matthew 10:17-22. “…But whoever will have persevered, even to the end, the same shall be saved.” Jesus in today’s gospel reminds us about perseverance in our faith. We prepared the Christmas celebration attending novena masses, and while we persevered in the preparation, the challenge now is to live the spirit of Christmas in our everyday lives. Remember that keeping our traditions will not make us automatically succeed, but that those who remain faithful to the end will find true life. Know that faith tested is faith refined. Remain steadfast, trusting that every step taken in faith, no matter how difficult, is held securely in divine hands. Goodnight dear Kalakbays! 😇😇😇

John 1:1-18. “…What came to be through him was life, and this life was the light of the human race; the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it…” More than the colorful festivities and lights this Christmas is the true Light, the reason for our celebration. Today’s darkness often takes the form of pride, greed, anger, anxiety, loneliness, and fear about the future. May the birth of Christ, the true Light, ablaze the flame in our heart, to spread peace, harmony, joy, hope, love and abundance within our homes, and throughout the world. May our days ahead be merry and our nights be bright! Merry Christmas dear Kalakbays! 🎄🎄🎄

Luke 1:67-79. “Zechariah his father, filled with the holy Spirit, prophesied, saying: ‘Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, for he has visited and brought redemption.’…” This is the confident feeling that also overwhelmed Zechariah in today’s 9th Simbang Gabi gospel. Beholding his son, whom he called prophet and forerunner of the Messiah, he was filled with the certainty that redemption has begun. In a few hours, it will be Christmas. It is not material things that makes our celebration meaningful. It is our faith to God, the presence of our loved ones. May we have the optimism of Zechariah, awaiting the breaking of dawn, the conquest of the new. Soon, dark will give way to the vigor of dazzling light, a day of joy and beginning of endless possibilities. A blessed Wednesday dear Kalakbays! 😇😇😇

Luke 1:57-66. “…So they made signs, asking his father what he wished him to be called. He asked for a tablet and wrote, ‘John is his name,’ and all were amazed…” In today’s 8th Simbang Gabi gospel, we reflected on the birth of John particularly arguments for his name. John means “God is gracious,” and this graciousness shone in his mission. Are we all living up to our name as Christians too? Let us be Christ to others. Be known for goodness and grace. Goodnight dear Kalalbays! 😇😇😇

Luke 1:46-56 “Mary said: ‘My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my savior. For he has looked upon his handmaid’s lowliness; behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed.’…” In today’s Simbang Gabi gospel, Mary begins by magnifying God, recognizing her own lowliness but rejoicing in God's favor, showing how personal praise leads to recognizing God's greatness. In the days before Christmas, we can easily get caught up in mass consumption, buying presents and enjoying parties. Mary’s song encourages us to step back, to think about our values and our striving. May this season of Advent offer a different way thanking the Lord, a way of seeking, a way of serving, a way of sacrifice. Remember, a grateful heart is humble, joyful, generous, and blessed! A blessed Monday and week ahead dear Kalakbays! 😇😇😇
