Dengue fever is a viral infection transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes, particularly Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. These mosquitoes are most active during the day, especially at dawn and dusk. The disease is common in tropical and subtropical regions and can range from mild to severe.

Causes & Transmission

✅ Dengue is caused by the dengue virus (DENV), which has four different strains (DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3, DENV-4).
✅ Once a mosquito bites an infected person, it carries the virus and can transmit it to others through bites.
✅ Dengue does not spread directly from person to person, only through mosquito bites.

🛡Shield Yourself from Mosquito Bites:
✅ Apply mosquito repellent (DEET, Picaridin, or natural oils)
✅ Wear long-sleeved clothing & pants, especially during early morning & evening
✅ Sleep under a mosquito net for extra protection

🏡 Destroy Mosquito Breeding Grounds:
🚫 Empty & clean stagnant water in pots, tires, and containers
🚫 Cover water storage containers tightly
🚫 Unclog roof gutters & drainage areas

🏠 Keep Your Home Mosquito-Free:
