LOOK | National Bureau of Investigation IX Regional Director Atty. Moises B. Tamayo and Senior Agent Moises Tabcao paid a courtesy call on Monday, January 8, 2024 to the Office of Governor Yshmael "Mang" I. Sali of Tawi-Tawi who was represented by Board Member Dr. Sukarno Asri, together with Board Members Abduljamil Ishmael, Renil Samsuya, Melhan Masdal, and Mahmud Bawasanta, Mayor Mohammad Faizal Jamalul, and Provincial Public Employment Service Officer Mr. Francis Marcial.
RD Tamayo and Agent Tabcao presented to the Tawi-Tawi Provincial Government their proposal to establish an NBI National Clearance Center in Bongao to cater to Tawi-Tawi constituents to address the costly and taxing travel to Zamboanga City for the sake of securing an NBI Clearance.
BM Asri, in behalf of Governor Sali, thanked the NBI WEMRO 9 - Zambasulta for favorably responding to the Provincial Government's request for an Offsite/Mobile NBI Clearance Issuance in Tawi-Tawi that will run until Friday, January 12, 2024 at Datu Amirbahar Jaafar Convention Center to primary cater passport applicants that need such clearance as an additional proof of identity for the Passport-on-Wheels.
Turtle Islands Municipality Mayor Faizal Jamalul seconded BM Asri as he shared that Mobile NBI Clearance Issuance and the intent to establish a local clearance center are aligned and supportive of the plans of Governor Sali to bring national services closer to the people in the southernmost end of the country.
BM Mohammad Yusof Tidal, Chairman of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee on Peace and Order, explained that the proposed establishment of an NBI National Clearance Center will positively impact the development of the province, especially by making services more accessible to the constituents of Tawi-Tawi.
BM Abduljamil Ishmael appreciated the gesture and intent of the NBI IX Director as their proposal and commitment to supporting manifest the whole-of-nation approach and ease the difficulties and burdens of Tawi-Tawians who have to secure NBI clearances for various purposes, including documents needed by halaws who have been returned from Sabah.
Provincial PESO Mr. Francis Marcial expounded that the plan to put up an NBI Clearance Center in Tawi-Tawi will widen the opportunities of their constituents especially in acquiring a passport and seeking jobs both locally and abroad. He further shared with the provincial officials present that NBI IX generously extended their stay until January 12, 2024 to cater to NBI Clearance applications for purposes such as job application, job promotion, and instating a personal documentation record of identity, among others.
RD Tamayo looks forward to coming back to Tawi-Tawi as he aspires to realize the NBI National Clearance Center in the province.
