The World Health Organization, American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Philippine Pediatric Society recommend exclusive breastfeeding up to six (6) months and continue up to two (2) years and beyond. Mothers must be encouraged to do exclusive breastfeeding. There is no need to give them infant formulas and/or other sources of nutrition. However, after 6 months, it is recommended to start nutritious foods and continue with breastfeeding.
