It hurts when you see someone in pain and know you canโt do anything to ease what they were enduring. What more, if they are a close member of your family- your parents, sibling, children or spouse. No matter how much you try to be strong, at night when no oneโs watching, you cry desperately. You cry for healing. You cry for comfort. You cry because as much as it hurts them, it also pains you to see them fight for their life. Thus, you do what you can do. Staying with them. Cooking for them. Sharing funny made-up stories. Helping them take their meds or getting dressed. Preparing their bed. Or even holding their hands. But most often, you lift them up in prayers. Crying, โGod, please heal my loved one. I beg you, please hear my prayers. Show us Your power. I believe in You. I trust You are more than capable of doing miracles. Oh God, please!โ
Dear, I understand you are frustrated, agitated and anxious. You are probably thinking of owning their battle and that it would be better that way. And you are dreading every second of the day of the possibilities. You are hopeful and at the same time restless. You are not at ease for as long as they are still struggling. You might have even thought that itโs kind of unfair to live normally while they are not. The reason why you constantly punish yourself and limit having fun or enjoying small things and celebrating your progress. You feel too guilty or insensitive to even think of smiling or laughing. But dear, you have to realize that you are not a bad person when you get to experience great things. You also need to be fed with positivity for you to give out positivity. You cannot give what you do not have. Therefore, immerse yourself with the love, peace, rest, grace, and lightness of heart that comes from God and from the people God surrounds you with. Itโs okay to ask for help. As much as you try to be a support system for someone you love, you also need yours, too. You can spend even a short time with them just to breathe and pray together. Thereโs nothing wrong with that. With more people praying, more warmth and comfort can be felt throughout the journey. We are with you! Faith-ing, brave one. ๐
