On August 28, 2025, Amai Pakpak Medical Center and Wao District Hospital came together for a one-day OB-GYN Community Service with the theme “Alaga sa Kababaihan, Kalusugan sa Kinabukasan”—a meaningful initiative that brought hope, care, and compassion to the women of Wao and nearby municipalities. In just a single day, 241 patients received free and essential healthcare services—2 TAHBSO, 41 pap smears, 37 VIA tests, 70 ultrasounds, and 91 consultations—giving women access to care that is vital for their health and well-being. The event opened with a short yet heartfelt program where patients warmly welcomed the doctors from the APMC OB-GYN Department, alongside the dedicated WDH doctors, nurses, and staff whose teamwork and compassion ensured that every patient felt supported and cared for.

Women’s health is community health. When women have access to proper reproductive and maternal care, they are empowered to safeguard their well-being, support their families, and strengthen future generations. Every test, every consultation, and every smile of relief from our patients reflects the importance of prioritizing women’s health—not only for today, but for a healthier tomorrow.

This milestone was made possible through the inspiring leadership of Dr. Asnawi R. Dalidig, Chief of Hospital II of Wao District Hospital, Dr. Shalimar Sani-Rakiin, Medical Center Chief II of Amai Pakpak Medical Center, and Dr. Rasnaifah Batugan-Pundaton, Chairman of the APMC OB-GYN Department, together with the entire APMC OB-GYN team. Equal gratitude is extended to the WDH doctors, nurses, and staff whose hard work and commitment were vital in ensuring the success of this community service. Their dedication and compassion transformed this activity into not just an event, but a true celebration of unity, service, and women’s health.

Through this collaboration, APMC and WDH once again proved that when institutions work together, they can create lasting change in people’s lives. This effort is more than just numbers—it represents every woman who walked away with peace of mind, every patient who felt seen and cared for, and every family given hope for a healthier future. Truly, investing in women’s health means investing in stronger families, brighter futures, and healthier communities. And this is only the beginning—together, we will continue to bring healthcare closer to every home.

Ang malinaw na paningin ay mahalaga sa halos lahat ng aspeto ng ating buhay. Maraming kondisyon sa mata ang maaaring humantong sa permanenteng pagkawala ng paningin kung hindi maaagapan. Ang regular na pagsusuri ay susi sa maagang pagtuklas at paggamot.

Ngayong Sight Saving Month, bigyang-pansin ang mga palatandaan ng problema sa mata tulad ng pamumula, panlalabo, pagluluha, pagkakaroon ng "floaters," o pananakit.

Upang mapanatili ang kalusugan ng inyong mga mata, ugaliing magpatingin sa isang espesyalista kahit isang beses sa isang taon. Huwag hayaang maging huli ang lahat.

Closing Ceremony of National Hospital Week 2025

Wao District Hospital proudly concluded the National Hospital Week 2025 with a day that truly highlighted the unity, talent, and dedication of our staff.

The celebration began with a vibrant showcase of performances, as each team presented lively dance numbers that reflected creativity, teamwork, and camaraderie—reminding us that WDH is not only a workplace but also a family bound by unity.

As the evening unfolded, the program became a stage for artistry and elegance. The WDH staff impressed the audience with heartfelt renditions during the solo singing contest and the harmonious voices of the chorale contest, both of which showcased the diverse talents of our hospital family. The night then sparkled with sophistication as staff graced the runway in their finest glitz and glam outfits, radiating pride, confidence, and elegance.

This culminating event marked not only the end of a week-long festivity but also a celebration of resilience, solidarity, and the enduring commitment of WDH to compassionate and quality healthcare.

We extend our sincerest gratitude to our Chief of Hospital II, Dr. Asnawi R. Dalidig, the dedicated committees, every member of the WDH family who made this year’s celebration a resounding success, and especially our panel of judges, whose time and expertise ensured that the contests were fair, meaningful, and memorable. Congratulations to all the teams for their outstanding performances and contributions to this year’s celebration! National Hospital Week 2025 is officially on!

Last August 11, Wao District Hospital proudly opened this year’s celebration with a vibrant motorcade around Wao, led by our ever-supportive and energetic Chief of Hospital II, Dr. Asnawi R. Dalidig. The streets came alive with cheers, and the warm smiles of our healthcare champions — a true reminder of the heart and dedication behind the walls of our hospital.

Following the motorcade, we gathered for an exciting opening program where each team showcased their creative chants, filling the air with energy, laughter, and team spirit. It was a celebration of unity and the unwavering commitment of every member of the WDH family.

In the afternoon, the festivities continued with the start of the ballgames, as WDH staff displayed teamwork, sportsmanship, and a passion for wellness beyond the hospital walls.

This year’s National Hospital Week carries the theme:
"Hospital: A Healthy Workplace for All sa Bagong Pilipinas" 🏥🇵🇭 — a timely reminder of the importance of creating safe, supportive, and inspiring work environments where healthcare workers can thrive and continue to give their best in serving our community.

Here’s to a week of honoring our healthcare heroes, fostering camaraderie, and celebrating excellence in service!
