The Department of Health Zamboanga Peninsula Center for Health Development, through the Mental Health and Substance Use Prevention Program, conducted a Training Course on Full Accreditation for Physicians on the Assessment and Management of Drug Dependence on November 3-8, 2025. The capacity building activity aims to equíp physicians who provides services in the screening, assessment and management of drug dependence, especially within the context of community-based drug rehabilitation programs (CBDRPs)

The Sonshine Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center headed by its Founder and Center Director Dr. Gloria G. Florendo in partnership with the City Government of Zamboanga and accredited by the DOH, provided the 20 participating physicians with hands-on experience in conducting Drug Dependency Exam assessments on selected patients admitted at SDTRC
