Our department was honored to host this multidisciplinary seminar focused on empowering parents and caregivers of children with special needs last 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, at Kcc Mall De Zamboanga🧩✨

The event featured the 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 necessary for holistic care and family-centered care:
🩺𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫: Dr. Vida shared insights about the medical diagnosis.
🤸🏻‍♀️𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫: OT Katrina explored the pyramid of learning, integrating the clinical concepts into home strategies.
🗣️𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫: SLP Donnabelle provided practical ways for building communication at home.
🏫𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫: SLP/Teacher Edsh navigated the complexities of school placement, transitions, and support.

Zamboanga City Medical Center- Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation celebrated the National Physiatry Day last July 17.

The said activity was spearheaded by our Department chair Dr. Pretzy Izquierdo. Lectures were given by Dr. Hana Paber and Dr. Mark Paredes.

Thank you to our patients and their SO for participating in our Tai Chi for fall and arthritis and for actively engaging during our discussion on the different services of the department.

July 17 is National Physiatry Day

Ang Physiatry, na kilala rin bilang physical medicine and rehabilitation, ay isang sangay ng medisina na nakatuon sa pagpapabuti ng kalidad ng buhay at pagtulong sa pag-galaw ng mga pasyenteng may pisikal na kapansanan.

Sa pinagsamang physical therapy at mga paggamot sa mga sakit, layunin ng Physiatry na matulungan ang mga pasyente na maiwasan ang anumang operasyon Lalo sa mga ss; Buto, Kalamnan, Utak, at Sistema ng Nerbiyo.
