At these levels, prolonged exposure can lead to heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and even heat stroke, especially with long duty hours, ward rounds, and movement across hospital areas.

This is a shared risk for all of us, most especially:
โ€ข Staff on extended shifts
โ€ข Personnel working outdoors (security, transport, maintenance)
โ€ข Patients with comorbidities, including elderly and pediatric cases

A productive and meaningful coordination meeting was successfully conducted with the Office of the City Veterinarian, marking another important step toward enhanced collaboration and shared responsibility.

The meeting highlighted key discussions on the development of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), ensuring a clear and structured partnership moving forward. A demonstration was also conducted on the proper use of equipment and the safe, humane handling of animals within the hospital setting. These efforts aim to align protocols and promote best practices grounded in safety, efficiency, and compassion.

Moreover, this collaboration opens opportunities for future capacity-building initiatives, including specialized training sessions to be conducted by the Office of the City Veterinarian for selected ZCMC staff. This will further equip personnel with the necessary knowledge and skills to respond effectively and responsibly.
