The Universidad de Zamboanga (UZ) is now ISO 21001:2018 Educational Organization Management System (EOMS) certified, becoming the first in the entire Region IX and leading the way in educational excellence.

A team composed of one (1) Technical Expert, one (1) Team Leader, six (6) esteemed auditors, and one (1) observer conducted the four-day Stage 2 Certification Audit from October 27–30, 2025, assessing various UZ departments to validate their implementation and conformity with the provisions and requirements of ISO 21001:2018.

The auditors noted significant growth, identified areas to address, and for improvement in the processes of academic, academic support, administrative departments.

They also highlighted the effectiveness of UZ’s management system processes and documentation, underscoring the continuous pursuit of quality education and services.

The EOMS Certification marks the University’s push to stronger quality management standards. It is now the institution’s fourth ISO, joining its existing International certifications, the Quality Management System ISO 9001:2015, the Occupational Health and Safety Management System ISO 45001:2018 (certified in 2021), and the Environmental Management System ISO 14001:2015, which made UZ the first academic institution in the region to achieve it in February 2024.
