The Philippine College of Occupational Medicine (PCOM) Zamboanga Peninsula Chapter joined the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office 9 (DOLE 9) in its Medical Mission for Workers, held at KCC Mall de Zamboanga as part of the 124th Labor Day celebration.

This annual initiative highlights a continuing commitment to serve the workers of Western Mindanao through accessible and dedicated medical services.

The Philippine College of Occupational Medicine (PCOM) marked its 4th Occupational Medicine Week with meaningful activities hosted by the PCOM Bulacan Chapter in Bulacan. Representatives from the PCOM Zamboanga Peninsula Chapter proudly joined the celebration, demonstrating solidarity in promoting worker health, environmental stewardship, and active living.

Our chapter was represented by Dr. Orissa Alpuerto, Dr. Katherine Eisma, and Dr. Voltaire Gonzales, who participated in the following activities:

๐ŸŒฑ Mangrove Tree Planting | Pamarawan, City of Malolos, Bulacan
This activity highlighted the role of environmental protection in safeguarding community and occupational health. Through mangrove planting, participants contributed to coastal protection, biodiversity conservation, and climate resilience.

๐Ÿƒ 3K / 5K / 10K Fun Run | Acro Residences Grounds, Guiguinto, Bulacan
The fun run promoted physical activity and wellness among occupational medicine practitioners and partners, reinforcing the importance of healthy lifestyles in advancing worker health.

These activities are part of the continuing commitment of PCOM to โ€œSafeguarding Health and Advancing Decent Work in Occupational Medicine.โ€

The PCOM Zamboanga Peninsula Chapter is proud to take part in national initiatives that strengthen collaboration, environmental responsibility, and the promotion of health in the workplace and beyond.

Occupational Medicine reminds us that behind every workplace is a worker whose health, safety, and dignity must always come first. From offices and hospitals to construction sites and industries, protecting workers means building stronger and healthier communities.

As part of the celebration, we are bringing together Occupational Medicine Physicians for a learning session entitled โ€œErgonomics for a Safer Workplaceโ€ on March 17, 2026 | 9:00โ€“11:30 AM | ZCMC Eye Center Conference Room.
