The Zamboanga City Medical Center through the Safety & Environment Unit (SafEU) successfully inaugurated the first Mindanao Assembly on Patient Safety or dubbed as MAPS. MAPS envisions to be an avenue for hospitals and health facilities to have discourse and share their best practices on patient safety, particularly in the Mindanao Region.

MAPS was participated by nurses, doctors, medical technologies, pharmacists and other health care professionals from Mindanao and other parts of the country. With the diverse attendees and speakers, participants were able to contribute and relate their patient safety experiences through the interactive open forum.
SafEU is very grateful to the speakers and institutions they represent. The topics were crafted to be essential and relatable to the participants and to the patient safety advocates. This conference is aimed to create further impetus to accelerate patient safety improvement and regional coordination in patient safety learning and networking.
