Basic Life Support (BLS) & Skills Refresher Training

The Edwin Andrews Air Base Hospital (EAABH) conducted a Basic Life Support (BLS) and Skills Refresher Training for its Aeromedical Technicians on October 31, 2025 at EAABH Conference Room, to enhance their competence and confidence in managing emergency situations.

The training was facilitated by MAJ PASCUAL MC and MAJ RECUPERO NC, who shared their expertise in life-saving interventions and best practices in aeromedical response. The Health Service Team, composed of the dedicated men and women of the Edwin Andrews Air Base Hospital (EAABH) and 1306th PAF Dental Dispensary, once again proved that excellence is not confined to the halls of service but extends to the very heart of camaraderie and competition.

With determination and teamwork, the team brought home victories:

TALK KWENTO: PUSO AT SERBISYO | S1E8

Behind every clean hallway and orderly room is a quiet hero who serves with humility and heart.
For eight years, our EAABH Utility Worker has been a steady force—keeping our hospital safe, clean, and ready for every patient in need.

His story reminds us that service is not measured by titles, but by the sincerity of one’s work.
In silence, he teaches us that true dedication doesn’t always wear a uniform—it shines through every act of care.

DOH School-Based Immunization Program

In connection with the Department of Health’s (DOH) School-Based Immunization Program, the EAAB Hospital Primary Health Care Team, in close collaboration with the Sta. Maria Health Center successfully conducted a vaccination drive at EAAB Elementary School. This coordinated initiative aimed to protect students from vaccine-preventable diseases by administering essential immunizations directly within the school premises.

On October 6, 2025, a total of 60 Grade 1 students received Measles, Rubella, and Tetanus, and Diphtheria vaccines. These immunizations play a vital role in safeguarding young children against potentially serious illnesses, thereby supporting their continued health and well-being.

In addition, 15 Grade 4 learners were vaccinated with the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, which offers protection against certain types of cancers caused by HPV infection. Delivering this service within the school setting helps ensure greater accessibility, particularly for families who may face challenges in visiting health facilities.

This vaccination activity reflects the strong commitment of the EAAB Hospital, Sta. Maria Health Center, and the Department of Health to improve child health outcomes through proactive preventive care and sustained community partnerships.

Dengue Prevention and Mental Health Awareness for Zamboanga’s Uniformed Heroes

Edwin Andrews Air Base Hospital, together with the Zamboanga City Medical Society, the Philippine Medical Association Ad Hoc Committee on Dengue Advocacy, and the Department of Health, proudly launched the advocacy initiative "PROTEKTADO ANG KATAWAN, MATATAG NA ISIPAN: DENGUE AND MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS FOR ZAMBOANGA'S UNIFORMED HEROES" at the EAAB Multi-Purpose Hall on September 30, 2025.

This year’s program highlights a powerful collaboration as we stand united with our courageous uniformed heroes in Zamboanga, focusing on two vital missions: dengue prevention and enhancing mental health resilience.

The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Abubakar T. Baddiri, President of the Zamboanga City Medical Society, alongside other esteemed members, and CPT ERICA TANIA DAVILLO MC, who served as the Subject Matter Expert.

Personnel from various EAAB units, as well as Camp Navarro General Hospital, actively participated in the lecture proper and joined the energetic ZUMBA session.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to ACDI Multi-Purpose Cooperative and POCARI Sweat for sponsoring today’s activity.

Let’s raise awareness, take action, and show our deepest gratitude to those who keep Zamboanga safe—both body and mind. Together, we can build a healthier and stronger community!

September is Su***de Prevention Month

A time to raise awareness.
A time to break the silence.
A time to remind each other: you are not alone.

Su***de is a deeply painful and complex issue that affects individuals, families, and communities everywhere. Behind every statistic is a human life — a person who felt hopeless, unheard, or overwhelmed. This month, we honor those we’ve lost, support those who are struggling, and work together to build a world where mental health is treated with the care and urgency it deserves.

Mental health matters. Your life matters.

You don’t need to have all the answers to support someone. Just showing up, listening without judgment, and being there can truly save a life. If you're struggling, please know: asking for help is a sign of strength. There is hope. There is healing.
