Often confused as symbols of medicine. But only the Rod of Asclepius holds that honour.

The caduceus is the staff of Hermes (Mercury in Roman mythology). It has two snakes intertwined and wings at the top.

The staff of Asclepius belongs to Asclepius. Asclepius was the ancient Greek god of medicine and healing, regarded as the divine patron of physicians.
In mythology, he was the son of Apollo and a mortal woman, Coronis.
He was trained in healing by the wise centaur Chiron and became so skilled that legends say he could raise the dead. This power disrupted the natural order, leading Zeus to strike him down with a thunderbolt. It features a single snake wrapped around a plain staff, with no wings.
This is the correct and historically accurate symbol of medicine and healing, representing:
-Restoration of health
-Renewal (snake shedding its skin)
-Clinical care and therapeutics
It is used by organisations like the World Health Organization.
