Stakeholders’ Meeting on Drug Prevention
July 23–24, 2025
With hearts united in a common cause, the Treatment and Rehabilitation Center – Zamboanga City (TRC-ZC), under the leadership of Chief of Hospital III, Dr. Liza Leslie I. Rojas, successfully held the Stakeholders’ Meeting on Drug Prevention last July 23–24, 2025. The gathering became more than just a meeting—it was a powerful reminder that healing, hope, and transformation can only be achieved through the strength of collective action.
Guided by the theme, “El Principio de Una Acción – The Beginning of an Action of TRC-ZC with the Stakeholders on Drug Treatment, Rehabilitation, and Prevention in Region IX,” the event marked a new chapter of unity and determination. It served as a call to action, inspiring every participant to stand as a beacon of compassion and resilience for individuals and families affected by substance use.
Anchored in the mission—
“Transforming Lives and Inspiring Resilience with Compassionate, Evidence-Based Recovery and Reintegration”—
the meeting shed light on the truth that recovery is not just an individual journey, but a shared responsibility of the entire community.
The two-day gathering was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Dir. Adriano P. Suba-an, MD, MPH, MCHM, CESO IV, Director IV, Office for the DATRCs Operations, Secretary and Chief of Staff Celso I. Lobregat from the City Mayor’s Office, and OIC-Regional Director Lenny Joy-Johnson Rivera, who all expressed not only their commitment but also their heartfelt support for recovery and reintegration.
Also present were representatives from vital agencies whose collaboration strengthens the collective fight against substance abuse, such as the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Regional Trial Court (RTC), Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Health (DOH), and the City Health Office (CHO). Their participation underscored the importance of a unified and compassionate approach to treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention.
Together, these partners embodied the true essence of bayanihan—a collective effort where every hand extended brings hope, and every voice raised strengthens the call for a drug-free and compassionate community.
This gathering was not the end, but the beginning of a stronger movement—one where every action, no matter how small, becomes a step toward a society healed by compassion and united in purpose.
