Nine years in the making—the first Level 3 Ethics Review Board (ERB) in Region 9. This milestone is not just about time, but about vision, perseverance, and collective effort. When an organization like ZCMC is blessed with a leader who dares to dream and transform, change becomes possible.

Establishing a Level 3 ERB is not just an achievement for our institution, but a breakthrough for the entire region. It elevates the standards of research, ensures the highest level of ethical oversight, and, most importantly, changes the research landscape of Region 9.

For the first time, we no longer rely on NCR or other regions for advanced ethical review. We now stand on our own, empowered to guide, protect, and promote quality research that directly responds to the needs of our communities.
