Dr. M. Abdullah Qazi, Head of the Department of Dental Education & Research (DDE&R), along with Dr. Dur e Saman (DDE&R), Miss Mehwish (Exam Controller), Miss Sania Shoaib (Clinical Psychologist), and Mr. Yasir (Office Attendant), attended the International Conference on Future of Healthcare (FHCC 2025) and participated in the Hands-on Workshop on Artificial Intelligence in Instrument Development held in Islamabad on 30th & 31st October 2025.

Special thanks to the organisers, especially Dr. Jasim and Prof. Dr. Zia Ul Haq (Vice Chancellor, KMU), for their outstanding efforts in arranging this impactful event.

Community Dentistry Awareness Camp Report – 28th October 2025

The Department of Community Dentistry, Women Dental College Abbottabad, organized a Dental Health Awareness Camp at Roots International School & College, Abbottabad, on 28th October 2025.

The camp, arranged by Dr. Imran Shah (Head of Department, Operative Dentistry), aimed to promote oral health awareness and preventive dental care among students.

The team — Dr. Samreen Rehman, Dr. Zara Khan (Lecturers, Community Dentistry), Dr. Zainab (Medical Officer, Operative Dentistry), and Lab Assistant Adeel — conducted dental check-ups, oral health education sessions, brushing technique demonstrations, and dietary counseling. Oral hygiene kits were distributed to encourage regular brushing habits.

The activity was well received by students and staff. The department extends gratitude to Dr. Imran Shah and the Roots International School & College administration for their support and cooperation. 🦷

🎓 Dr.Dur e Saman and Dr.Momina Tahir from the Department of Dental Education and Research WDC, had the privilege of attending the 9th International Conference on Health Professions Education and the 1st International Conference on Nursing and Midwifery on 24th & 25th October 2025 at University of Lahore.

It was an honor for Dr. Dur e Saman to present research paper by Asst Professor Dr. M Abdullah Qazi titled “A Need-Based Faculty Development Program in Women Medical and Dental College”, among distinguished educators and professionals from across the region.

Final Year BDS Pre-Professional Examination Meeting – 15 October 2025

On 15 October 2025, a meeting of all Heads of Departments and the Class Representative of Final Year BDS was held in the Conference Room of Rehmat Memorial Postgraduate Dental Hospital. The session focused on finalizing the date and preparatory arrangements for the Final Year BDS Pre-Professional Examination.

Clinical Dentistry I Module Finalized for 3rd Year BDS – 8 October 2025

On 8 October 2025, Women Dental College Abbottabad hosted a collaborative meeting with subject specialists from Women Dental College, Abbottabad International Dental College, and Ayub College of Dentistry to finalize the Clinical Dentistry I Module for 3rd Year BDS.

The session focused on reviewing and aligning Learning Outcomes with module themes, resulting in one revised theme title and minor curricular modifications. Participants will submit finalized changes by Friday, 10 October 2025. The meeting concluded with appreciation for the inter-institutional collaboration advancing dental education standards.

WM&DC Celebrates MBBS and BDS Graduates at Convocation Ceremony – 27 September 2025

Women Medical and Dental College Abbottabad held its MBBS and BDS Convocation Ceremony for batches 2011-2025 on 27 September 2025 in the main auditorium. The event was graced by Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Zia-ul-Haq, Vice Chancellor of Khyber Medical University Peshawar, and Registrar Mr. Inamullah, with over 1,000 guests, faculty members, graduates, and families in attendance.

In his address, Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Zia-ul-Haq acknowledged the institutional leadership of Managing Director Dr. Azhar Khan Jadoon and associates. Principal Prof. Dr. Salma Aslam Kundi and Principal Prof. Dr. Shahid Khan highlighted the collective dedication of teachers, students, and parents in achieving this academic milestone.

The ceremony honored outstanding graduates, MBBS and BDS top graduates were honored with medals and awards. BDS shining stars—graduate Dr. Satia Qazi Sohail secured 9 gold medals, Dr. Sidra Naseer earned 7 gold medals, Dr. Reem Noor and Dr. Fatima Khan each received 4 medals. Faculty and staff across administrative and academic departments received souvenirs for exceptional contributions.

Principal Prof. Dr. Salma Aslam Kundi and Managing Director Dr. Azhar Jadoon presented a commemorative shield to Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Zia-ul-Haq, concluding a celebration of academic excellence and institutional achievement.
