Visit to Mental Hospital Dadar, Mansehra by BS- Nursing students Jinnah College of Nursing Abbottabad.

As part of the curriculum requirements, students of semester 6th visited the Mental Hospital Dadar, located in Mansehra. The visit aimed to provide students with a practical understanding of mental health care and psychiatric practices.

The students were warmly received and guided by Dr. Ehsan Naveed Irfan, who provided insightful information about the hospital’s facilities, operations, and treatment approaches. Accompanied by their subject teacher, Mr. Mumtaz Ali, the students explored various departments of the hospital, including the outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, and therapy rooms. Dr. Ehsan elaborated on the challenges faced by mental health professionals and the evolving trends in psychiatry.
The visit provided students with an opportunity to observe real-life applications of theoretical knowledge. They engaged in discussions, asked questions, and gained a deeper understanding of the psychological and emotional support provided to patients.

First Annual Convocation for Post RN BSN Nursing Students Held on May 31, 2024

The inaugural convocation ceremony for Post RN BSN nursing students took place on May 31, 2024, in the WMC Main Auditorium. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Chief Guest Syed Zaheer-ul-Islam Shah, Commissioner Hazara Division, and Mr. Sarfraz Masih, Principal of the Lahore School of Nursing at the University of Lahore.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran and the National Anthem, followed by a welcome speech from Principal Mr. Tariq Siraj Qazi. Attendees were then inspired by the thoughtful remarks of Managing Director Dr. Azhar Jadoon.

A series of engaging presentations highlighted the history of nursing, the vital role of nurses in the healthcare system, and other significant topics. The degree-awarding segment was accompanied by the recitation of the Nightingale Pledge, underscoring the commitment of the graduates to their noble profession.

Chief Guest Syed Zaheer-ul-Islam Shah and Principal Mr. Sarfraz Masih illuminated the ceremony with speeches emphasizing the critical role and importance of nursing in society. Recognition was given to outstanding contributors in the field, with awards and certificates presented to the best teachers, exemplary students, and class toppers.

The convocation concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Director of Academics, Dr. Adnan Bashir Qazi, bringing a memorable and inspiring event to a close. The presence of all directors and the Dean of the institute underscored the significance of this milestone in the academic journey of the nursing students.

QEC recently organized a successful seminar with Mr. Sarfaraz Masih, Principal & Associate Professor at Lahore School of Nursing, as the esteemed chief guest. Mr. Masih, who holds degrees from prestigious institutions such as Aga Khan University, shared invaluable insights on 'Quality Nursing Education.' The seminar was attended by participants from Jinnah College of Nursing, Women Institute of Learning and Rehabilitation Sciences, Women Medical College, and Women Dental College, all of whom greatly benefited from the event.

The seminar commenced with a recitation of the Quran and included enlightening talks by Mr. Tariq Siraj Qazi and Mr. Masih. Dr. Hamid Ullah Shah provided closing remarks, followed by a feedback session and a photo opportunity. We extend our deep gratitude to Mr. Qaiser (Deputy Director QEC), Dr. Rizwan, Miss Zainab Jadoon (QEC manager), Miss Tooba Jadoon(assistant QEC manager), and Mr. Adnan Ayub (data Analyst QEC) for their essential support in ensuring the success of this event. With the collaboration WM&DC Miss Aneela Khurshid (BDS QEC Manager, Miss Rivish Jadoon (MBBS QEC Manager) and Mr. Wadeed ul Janan (MBBS QEC Asst. Manager).

It is the part of project PEPS named as Professional education & promotion society established in 2002. This is a registered society under the Voluntary Social Welfare Agency Ordinance 1961. Jinnah College of Nursing Abbottabad was started as Jinnah School of nursing for 3 years nursing diploma programme in 2016 and upgraded to the level of nursing college in 2019. Jinnah College of Nursing Abbottabad is recognized by Pakistan Nursing, Council and registered by Health Foundation, Govt of KPK and Higher Education Regulatory Authority (HERA) KPK.
