WMC Sports Gala 2026 Concludes with Funfair – 14 May 2026

On 14 May 2026, the 3-day Sports Gala at Women Medical College concluded with a funfair. A welcome desk was arranged at the college front to greet participants. All MBBS and BDS faculty, students and staff from both colleges actively participated and enjoyed the event. The day was filled with joy, laughter, and lasting memories.

Workshop on Fracture Classification and Orthopedic Trauma Management Held at WDC Skills Lab – 13 May 2026

On 13 May 2026, a specialized CME workshop on fracture classification, diagnosis, and orthopedic trauma management was held at the Skills Lab, Women Dental College Abbottabad, in collaboration with Jinnah International Hospital. The session was facilitated by Dr. Syed Muhammad Qasim Shah (MBBS, FCPS) and Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Basharat (MBBS, FCPS).

Participants gained valuable insights into fracture classification and orthopedic care through an interactive learning experience. HOD DDER WDC Dr. M. Abdullah Qazi attended the workshop. Director Academic WDC Dr. Qazi Adnan Bashir appreciated the session and distributed shields and certificates to the facilitators and participants.

Women Medical College Sports Gala 2026 – Day 2 | 13 May 2026

Day 2 of the Annual Sports Gala 2026 at Women Medical College featured an exciting lineup of student and faculty sporting events, fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy competition.

The day commenced with the student finals of cricket and badminton, followed by engaging faculty cricket and football matches. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from distinguished members of the administration, faculty, and staff.

The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Managing Director Women Medical & Dental College Dr. Azhar Khan Jadoon, Director Academics WDC Dr. Qazi Adnan Bashir, and Vice Principal Clinical WMC Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khalid Bin Saleem, who presented shields and certificates to the winning students, faculty members, and staff participants in recognition of their outstanding performances.

A Sports Sash Ceremony for student societies was also conducted, adding further spirit and enthusiasm to the celebrations.

From Diagnosis to Drug: Workshop on Rational Prescribing Held at WMC – 13 May 2026

On 13 May 2026, the Medical Education Department organized an informative and interactive workshop titled From Diagnosis to Drug: Teaching Rational Prescribing Effectively at the IT Conference Room, Women Medical College Abbottabad. The session was facilitated by Assistant Professor Dr. Salma Rashid (MBBS, MPhil) and Dr. Samiya Rahim (MBBS, MPhil) from the Pharmacology Department, WMC.

Participants gained practical insights into evidence-based prescribing, drug selection, and patient safety.

Women Medical College Sports Gala 2026 | 12–14 May 2026

Women Medical College successfully organized its 3-day Annual Sports Gala from 12th to 14th May 2026, celebrating sportsmanship, culture, and student talent. The opening ceremony was held under the theme “Representation of Pakistan,” featuring vibrant class-wise cultural presentations showcasing Jirga Culture, Basant, Village Life, and Pakistan Since 1947, followed by an exciting funfair.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was performed by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq in the presence of event organizer Miss Masooma and the Department of Medical Education staff. The opening remarks were delivered by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khalid Bin Saleem.

Day 1 of the gala featured thrilling cricket semi-finals along with competitive badminton and volleyball matches, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm, teamwork, and healthy competition among students.
