*Planning Meeting on Upcoming BCU Round III and HPV Vaccination Campaign*

A planning meeting was held under the chairmanship of the District Health Officer (DHO) Badin to discuss preparations for the upcoming BCU Round III and the HPV vaccination campaign. The meeting was attended by all TSVs, TFPs,DFC IRD,RMNCH, and DEOC staff.

*INAUGURATION CEREMONY BY MEMBER OF NATIONAL ASSEMBLY MNA MIR GHULAM ALI TALPUR AT RHC TANDO GHULAM ALI*

*DISTRICT BADIN*

*Honorable MNA Mir Ghulam Ali Talpur* inaugurated the upcoming Polio Campaign, which is set to begin on May 26, 2025, by administering oral polio drops to child, symbolizing the launch of the drive.

On this occasion, MNA Mir Ghulam Ali Talpur delivered an important message to all parents, emphasizing that every child from newborns to those under five years of age must receive the polio vaccine drops. He urged parents to take this responsibility seriously to protect their children from lifelong disability caused by the poliovirus.

He highlighted that polio has no cure, but it is entirely preventable through timely vaccination. He further appealed to the community to fully cooperate with health teams during the campaign to ensure every eligible child is reached and vaccinated, ultimately contributing to a polio-free future for Pakistan.

*COORDINATOR EOC SINDH & DTL UNICEF VISIT DISTRICT BADIN*

*16th May 2025*

The Worthy EOC Sindh Coordinator, Mr. Irshad Sodhar, and the Respectable Deputy Team Lead UNICEF, Dr. Azeem Khuwaja, visited District Badin to review the progress and gaps of the last NID campaign (April 2025) and preparation for the upcoming NID campaign (May 2025).

*Meeting Details:*
The meeting was held at the Committee Room, DC Office Badin, and was facilitated & Led by the ADC-I Mr. Kashif Mangi along with the ADC-II Mr Bagwan Das, and the Assistant Commissioner Badin Mr. Rajesh Dilpat.
The meeting brought together DEOC partner ( NSTOP, IO, CCO), DFC-IRD and the (DHMT) Badin.

*Agenda:*
1. Review of NID April 2025 campaign progress and gaps
2. Analysis of challenges faced and lessons learned
3. Preparation and planning for NID May 2025 campaign
4. Discussion on improving campaign effectiveness and addressing gaps

*Outcome:*
1. Improved understanding of campaign strengths and weaknesses
2. Identification of areas for improvement and action points
3. Enhanced collaboration and coordination among stakeholders
4. Better preparation and planning for the upcoming NID campaign.

District Health Officer Badin, Dr. Anjum Ali Soomro, congratulated the newly appointed vaccinators on their selection. He welcomed them to the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) and provided an orientation about their roles and responsibilities. Dr. Soomro extended his best wishes for their future endeavors and encouraged them to serve the community with dedication and commitment.

Distribution of Motor bikes in District Badin
Another milestone was achieved as the District Health Officer Badin, Dr. Anjum Ali Soomro, distributed motorcycles provided by WHO to vaccinators serving in outreach areas. The WHO Divisional Officer, DFP EPI, Badin and DFC IRD were also present . On this occasion, DHO Badin instructed all vaccinators to use the motorcycles strictly for outreach activities and to maintain them responsibly.

The video message of Dr. Anjum Ali Soomro, District Health Officer Badin, was featured by the Federal EPI during World Immunization Week. This is a significant honor, as he is the only District Health Officer in Pakistan whose message was highlighted at the national level.
