A BP apparatus, also known as a sphygmomanometer, is a medical device used to measure blood pressure. It typically includes an inflatable cuff, a device to inflate the cuff (like a bulb pump or an automated mechanism), and a gauge to measure the pressure. The cuff is wrapped around the upper arm, inflated to constrict the artery, and then slowly deflated while a stethoscope is used to listen for the blood flow sounds.
