🌟 Strengthening Health Systems at THQ Samahni – Orientation on AFP, Measles & Hepatitis 🌟
As part of continued efforts to improve disease surveillance and preventive healthcare, an orientation session was conducted at THQ Samahni focusing on AFP (Acute Flaccid Paralysis), Measles, and Hepatitis A & E.
👨⚕️ The session was graciously hosted under the leadership of Dr. Umair Fazal, Medical Superintendent THQ Samahni, whose continued support and facilitation are pivotal in advancing health awareness and capacity-building at the facility level.
📊 Key Highlights of the Session:
✅ Dr. Umair Fazal opened the session with a motivational note, highlighting the importance of early detection, timely reporting, and coordinated efforts in tackling vaccine-preventable diseases.
✅ Dr. Imran Saddique, District Surveillance Coordinator (DSC) Bhimber, conducted a detailed orientation on AFP and Measles surveillance, focusing on case definitions, active case search, and the critical role of timely notifications.
✅ Dr. Adeel, Child Specialist at THQ Samahni, delivered an insightful and detailed session on Hepatitis A & E, C, D covering clinical signs, transmission routes, and practical prevention through hygiene, safe drinking water, and sanitation.
✅ Abdul Wahab Irfan, District Health Education Officer (DHEO) Bhimber, facilitated the session and contributed relevant health education materials to support ongoing awareness efforts.
🧑⚕️ The session was attended by medical officers, nursing staff, and paramedics, who actively engaged with the content and appreciated the value of hands-on learning.
