Hunger. A six letter word, carrying so much pain, yet deemed trivial. Maybe because, we get our desired food in front of us without even asking, or working for it. Maybe because, we don’t acknowledge the fact that while we enjoy warm meals, some people sleep on chilly pavements and go to sleep with a famished stomach.
Hunger can be viewed as an element of extreme poverty. This is an issue which has been underrated for too long now. If you shed some light on facts and statistics you will find out that majority of the robberies and thefts occur, due to people not having money to provide and support their families back home. Not only do the lower class commit this, but also mediocre families.
The unequal dissemination of revenue among people and lack of resources in developing countries, signify that millions can’t afford the land, farming supplies, or just food because long hours of hard work are met with nothing but critique and some cents, that don’t match the level of dedication that is put in.
Another aspect that we can eye this from is education or literacy rate. Masses of individuals are not given their basic human right. Education. In all sorts of educational institutions other than degrees and careers, people learn about the norms and necessities of a society.
Regardless of what level of hierarchy you belong from, basic level education is crucial and paramount for every citizen of every country. 26 alphabets, and common sense open you up to exposure and so much more.
Moreover, poor public policies in developing and undeveloped countries have led to increased hunger and malnutrition. System problems such as poor infrastructure or low investment has quite often prevented food and water from reaching masses.
Nonetheless, hunger has decreased by 27% from 2000 to 2020, but the issue arises when senior administrative organisations are not willing to do anything for the lowest citizens of our hierarchy. Small organisations such as anti-bhook alliance aka Rizq Team Burewala, and teamsamaj are doing whatever they can to help support the needy and famished, but this is only a short-term solution.
A long-term permanent solution is definetely required in order to reduce the rate of hunger and poverty. Solutions like proper agricultural facilities and government intervention.
In and all, the destination is indeed very far away, but the journey is what makes the destination fruitful. Hence, keep sharing, donating and contributing because at the end of the day you help not only them but yourself as a person too.
