On 29th October, I, Dr. Bisma Khalid, had the privilege of conducting a Nutrition Awareness and Screening Camp at Aspire College, Burewala, in collaboration with Dr. Amjad Siddique from New Nishtar Central Diagnostic Lab. The experience was truly inspiring and fulfilling. The college students showed great enthusiasm throughout the event. Many of them volunteered actively and performed nutritional assessments such as BMI, Ideal Body Weight (IBW), and Waist-to-Hip Ratio (WHR) with remarkable interest and accuracy.
I am sincerely thankful to Dr. Amjad Siddique and his dedicated team for joining the camp and offering free Hb tests, blood pressure monitoring, and random blood glucose testing, which provided valuable health insights to participants. Overall, it was a well-organized and successful event that promoted health awareness and encouraged students to take an active role in community well-being.
Many people in Burewala city are still unaware of the importance of nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. Many do not know how their daily food choices affect their health, weight, and energy levels. That’s why creating awareness programs and health camps is very important. These activities help people understand basic nutrition, learn about balanced diets, and know the importance of regular health checkups like blood pressure, glucose, and hemoglobin tests. By spreading this awareness, we can help the community of Burewala adopt healthier habits and prevent many diseases. With continuous efforts and education, we can build a healthier and more informed society where everyone knows how to take care of their own health and the health of their families.
In the future, we plan to organize more such camps to promote better health awareness and build a healthy, active society in Burewala. Insha’Allah, every individual will become more conscious of maintaining a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle for overall well-being.
