What are the symptoms of Pulmonary Hypertension?

The symptoms of pulmonary hypertension develop slowly. You may not notice them for months or even years. Symptoms get worse as the disease progresses.

Pulmonary hypertension symptoms include:

Shortness of breath, at first while exercising and eventually while at rest.
Blue or gray skin color due to low oxygen levels. Depending on your skin color, these changes may be harder or easier to see.
Chest pressure or pain.
Dizziness or fainting spells.
Fast pulse or pounding heartbeat.
Fatigue.
Swelling in the ankles, legs and belly area.

Causes.

Group 1: Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH)
Causes include:

Heart problems present at birth, called a congenital heart defect.

What is amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)?

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis known as ALS, is a nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. ALS causes loss of muscle control. The disease gets worse over time. ALS is often called Lou Gehrig's disease after the baseball player who was diagnosed with it.
Symptoms.
Symptoms of ALS vary from person to person. Symptoms depend on which nerve cells are affected. ALS generally begins with muscle weakness that spreads and gets worse over time. Symptoms might include:

Trouble walking or doing usual daily activities.
Tripping and falling.
Weakness in the legs, feet or ankles.
Hand weakness or clumsiness.
Slurred speech or trouble swallowing.
Weakness associated with muscle cramps and twitching in the arms, shoulders and tongue.
Untimely crying, laughing or yawning.
Thinking or behavioral changes.
ALS often starts in the hands, feet, arms or legs. Then it spreads to other parts of the body. Muscles get weaker as more nerve cells die. This eventually affects chewing, swallowing, speaking and breathing.

There's generally no pain in the early stages of ALS. Pain also is not common in the later stages. ALS doesn't usually affect bladder control. It also usually doesn't affect the senses, including the ability to taste, smell, touch and hear.
Causes.
ALS affects the nerve cells that control voluntary muscle movements such as walking and talking. These nerve cells are called motor neurons. There are two groups of motor neurons. The first group extends from the brain to the spinal cord to muscles throughout the body. They're referred to as upper motor neurons. The second group extends from the spinal cord to muscles throughout the body. They're referred to as lower motor neurons.

ALS causes both groups of motor neurons to gradually deteriorate and then die. When motor neurons are damaged, they stop sending messages to the muscles. As a result, the muscles can't function.

For about 10% of people with ALS, a genetic cause can be identified. For the rest, the cause is not known.

Researchers continue to study possible causes of ALS. Most theories center on a complex interaction between genes and factors in the environment.
Homeopathic Treatment.

Phosphorus – for those with lack of boundaries, where they are social but affected by others’ emotions; they feel that they must take on other’s pains and diseases to save them; they may be intuitive and even psychic, but they are trapped by their over stimulation; physical signs include numb fingers, numbness of the legs, uncertain walking; pain, twitching and tremors of the muscles; feel better from motion, heat, and massage; sensitive to storms and may have nose bleeds.

Plumbum metallicum – the emotional causes are selfishness and materialism over a period of time; often have arteriosclerosis with contracting pains and symptoms; sallow and shrunken with their affected parts; hypersensitive to the touch; numbness and paralysis; progressive paralysis of especially upper part of the body; wrist and ankle drop, tremors, spasms of muscles especially of the arms and hands; offensive sweaty feet; sciatic pains of legs with numbness; extensor muscles weakened.

Sulphur – the intellectual (they are often egotistical) or the inventor with great ideas often unfulfilled; tendency to messiness; pains are burning, tendency to stick feet out of the covers; left shoulder pains; symptoms are accompanied by skin problems; worse left side.

What is typhoid fever?
Typhoid fever is an illness caused by the bacterium Salmonella Typhi (S. Typhi). It infects your small intestines (gut) and causes high fever, stomach pain and other symptoms. Typhoid fever is also called enteric fever.

You’ll commonly hear paratyphoid fever mentioned along with typhoid. Paratyphoid fever is similar to typhoid with more mild symptoms. It’s caused by Salmonella Paratyphi (S. Paratyphi).

S. Typhi and S. Paratyphi are different than the Salmonella bacteria that cause salmonellosis, a common type of food poisoning.

What are the symptoms of typhoid fever?
Typhoid fever gets its name from a high fever that can last for weeks if left untreated. It often gets progressively worse over a few days.

Other symptoms of typhoid fever include:

Headache.
Chills.
Loss of appetite.
Stomach (abdominal) pain.
“Rose spots” rash, or faint pink spots, usually on your chest or stomach.
Cough.
Muscle aches.
Nausea, vomiting.
Diarrhea or constipation.
What are the stages of typhoid fever?
You can develop symptoms of typhoid fever gradually in four stages. Early treatment with antibiotics can keep you from progressing to later stages.

Stage 1. You can start getting typhoid symptoms anywhere from five to 14 days after coming in contact with S. Typhi. The first symptom is a fever that gets higher over a few days — called “stepwise” since it goes up in steps. The bacteria is moving into your blood in this stage.
Stage 2. Around the second week of fever, the bacteria is multiplying in your Peyer’s patches (part of your immune system that identifies harmful invaders). You’ll start experiencing abdominal pain and other stomach symptoms, like diarrhea or constipation. You might get “rose spots,” small pink dots on your skin that look like a rash.
Stage 3. If not treated with antibiotics, the bacteria can cause severe damage, usually around the third week after your symptoms start. Some people get serious complications, like internal bleeding and encephalitis (inflammation in your brain).
Stage 4. Stage four is when most people begin to recover. Your high fever begins to come down. S. Typhi can live in your gallbladder without causing symptoms, which means you may still be contagious even after you feel better.

How Homeopathy Works
Homeopathy was founded in the late eighteenth century by the celebrated German physician Samuel Hahnemann, known for his work in pharmacology, hygiene, public health, industrial toxicology, and psychiatry. Reacting to the barbarous practices of his day, such as bloodletting (the use of leeches), and toxic mercury-based laxatives, Dr. Hahnemann set out to find a more rational and humane approach to medicine.

Dr. Hahnemann’s breakthrough came during an experiment in which he twice daily ingested cinchona, a Peruvian bark well-known as a cure for malaria. Soon after he began his experiment he developed periodic fevers common to malaria. As soon as he stopped taking the cinchona, his symptoms disappeared. Dr. Hahnemann theorized that, if taking a large dose of cinchona created symptoms of malaria in a healthy person, this same substance, taken in smaller dose by a person suffering from malaria, might stimulate the body to fight the disease. His theory was born out by years of experiments with hundreds of substances that produced similar results. Based on his work, Dr. Hahnemann formulated the principles of homeopathy.

Dr. Hahnemann referred to this phenomenon as the Law of Similars, a principle first recognized in the fourth century B.C., by Hippocrates, who was studying the effects of herbs upon disease. This Law of Similars was also the theoretical basis for the vaccines of physicians Edward Jenner, Jonas Salk, and Louis Pasteur. They would “immunize” the body with trace amounts of a disease component, often a virus, to strengthen its immune response to the actual disease. Allergies are treated in a similar fashion by introducing minute quantities of the suspected allergen into the body to bolster natural tolerance levels.
The More Diluted, the Greater Its Potency

Most people believe that the higher the dose of a medicine, the greater the effect. But the opposite holds true in homeopathy where the more a substance is diluted, the higher its potency. Dr. Hahnemann discovered this Law of the Infinitesimal Dose by experimenting with higher and higher dilutions of substances to avoid toxic side effects.

Today, homeopathic remedies are usually prepared through a process of diluting with pure water or alcohol and succussing (vigorous shaking). Homeopathic solutions can be diluted to such an extent that literally no molecules of the original substance remain in the remedy. Yet, the more dilute it gets the more potent it becomes. This phenomenon has been the source of great fascination among practitioners and researchers in the field of homeopathic medicine, as from the point of view of conventional chemistry; diluted homeopathic remedies may contain no trace of the original substance. In fact, any homeopathic remedy over 24X potency (24 successive dilutions and succussions) will have no chemical trace of the original substance remaining.
