بچوں کی ناف (Navel) سے متعلق مسائل عام ہیں، لیکن انہیں نظر انداز نہیں کرنا چاہیے۔ دو اہم بیماریاں جن کے بارے میں والدین کو آگاہ ہونا ضروری ہے وہ ہیں ناف کا گرینولوما اور ناف کا پولِپ۔ بروقت تشخیص سے آسان اور مؤثر علاج ممکن ہے۔

🔹 ناف کا گرینولوما (Umbilical Granuloma)

ناف کا گرینولوما ایک چھوٹا سرخ اور نم گوشت کا ٹکڑا ہوتا ہے جو نال گرنے کے بعد ناف پر ظاہر ہوتا ہے۔

Awareness Message for Parents- Tube Defects (Meningocele / Myelomeningocele) – Early Diagnosis Saves Lives

Neural Tube Defects (NTDs) are serious congenital conditions that affect a baby’s brain and spinal cord. They occur when the neural tube (which forms the brain and spine) does not close completely during early pregnancy.

Two common types are:
🔹 Meningocele – A fluid-filled sac protrudes through an opening in the spine, but the spinal cord remains in place.

🔹 Myelomeningocele – A more severe form, where both the spinal cord and nerves come out through the opening in the back. This can cause weakness or paralysis of the legs and problems with bladder and bowel control.

Signs at Birth:
• Swelling or sac on the baby’s back
• Weakness in legs
• Difficulty passing urine or stool
• Associated hydrocephalus (water in the brain) in some cases

⚠️ This is a medical emergency and requires urgent evaluation by a pediatric surgeon and neurosurgical team.

🩺 Treatment:
✔️ Early surgical repair to close the defect
✔️ Prevention of infection
✔️ Multidisciplinary care and long-term follow-up
