Dr. Muhammad Asif Wazir is a highly qualified and dedicated medical professional based in Pakistan. Born on January 3, 1993, he holds Pakistani nationality and currently resides in Khakwani town, Dera Ismail Khan. Dr. Asif’s academic journey in medicine began at Saidu Medical College Swat (KPK), where he earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Khyber Medical University, Peshawar, in the period from March 7, 2012, to May 7, 2017.
His commitment to medical excellence continued as he pursued a specialization in Internal Medicine at Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU) from 2019 to 2023, earning an MD in Internal Medicine. Throughout his educational journey, Dr. Asif demonstrated a keen interest in staying abreast of international medical practices. This is evident from his participation in the First Internal Medicine Online Certificate Course organized by the Section of Internal Medicine at Aga Khan University, Karachi, from December 14, 2022, to December 13, 2023.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Asif has actively contributed to the medical field through his work experiences. He served as a Casualty Medical Officer at Sughra Shafi Medical Complex from September 13, 2018, to October 28, 2019. He later assumed the role of Registrar of Medicine at Benazir Bhutto Hospital in Rawalpindi from 2019 to 2023.

He has engaged in continuous professional development, evident from his participation in the Neurology Certificate Course in 2021, conducted by the Department of Medicine, Section of Neurology, at The Aga Khan University, Karachi. Furthermore, he has showcased his commitment to community health by completing an Online Course on TB Management facilitated by the National TB Control Program, Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination in Islamabad on May 23, 2023.

In addition to his publications, Dr. Asif has conducted clinical trials on the role of vitamin D3 in alleviating pain in painful diabetic neuropathy at Benazir Bhutto Hospital in Rawalpindi. The clinical trial, titled “To compare the efficacy of a single high dose and standard dose of Vitamin D3 therapy in painful diabetic neuropathy,” has received approval from the FDA and is registered on ClinicalTrials.org.
Furthermore, Dr. Asif’s research and thesis work on the same topic have been submitted to the Rawalpindi Medical University research unit, highlighting his dedication to advancing medical knowledge and improving patient outcomes.
