SEEKING WISDOM
Life is full of moments when we do not know what to do. We face decisions, big and small, that leave us feeling uncertain. That is why James gives us such a comforting promise:
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5
God knows that we need wisdom and does not hold back when we ask for it. He is not sitting in heaven shaking His head at our confusion or frustration. Instead, He invites us to come to Him, expecting Him to answer. His wisdom is generous, and He never makes us feel bad for needing help.
Asking for wisdom is not just about making big life decisions. It is about seeking His guidance in everyday moments, how to handle a difficult conversation, show love to someone who is hard to love, or balance work and rest. When we turn to Him, He shapes our hearts and minds to reflect His truth.
The key is to ask in faith. A few verses later, James warns about doubting when we ask.
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. James 1:6
God wants us to trust that He will answer, even if we do not see the solution immediately. Sometimes, His wisdom comes through the Bible, through the peace He gives us in prayer, or even through wise counsel from other Believers.
Whatever you are facing today, take it to God. He promises to give wisdom freely. You do not have to earn or prove you deserve it, ask. He is ready and willing to guide you.
As He does, you will begin to see His hand at work, leading you step by step in His perfect plan.
Heavenly Father, I am thankful I do not have to walk this road of life alone. You have provided exactly what I need as I listen and obey Your Holy Spirit Who lives within. Thank You for such a price that was paid so I may have life eternal in You. Thank You for being my Father God. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
