馃挜Tensor Fasciae Latae Pain馃挜
The Tensor fasciae latae (TFL) can create vicious pain! It can become overworked as it compensates for a week glute medius, propagating IT Band tightness and impacting everything down to our feet and ankles. Because of its far-reaching impact, you can鈥檛 overlook the health of your TFL鈥檚!
馃挕The symptoms of Tensor Fasciae Latae Pain include:
路 Outer hip pain
路 Referral pain down the outside of the thigh
路 Pain when setting down on the tender side
路 Weight bearing on one side is more excruciating
路 Pain upon quick walking
路 Pain when standing and keeping your pelvis level
馃挕As the TFL becomes overburdened and chronically shortened, it can lead to lower back, hip and knee pain鈥攏ot to mention IT Band issues and foot and ankle problems!
馃挕Because of its interactions with the IT Band, the TFL can create movement compensations down the entire leg! To make a bad situation worse, your body continues to adapt. As Tensor fascia latae progressively gets worse, it鈥檚 not uncommon to see issues with ankle mobility. Now, these changes only grow our need to compensation, causing problems back up the kinetic chain.
馃挕This is why you can鈥檛 just overlook aches and pains. The longer you ignore these issues and keep pushing through, the more you encourage compensations and imbalances to develop. If you don鈥檛 address TFL issues, you鈥檒l end up having to address issues from your feet up!
馃挕Treatment

路 Tensor Fasciae Latae Brace and Support
路 Compression Leggings
路 Physical Therapy
