Imagine you get a chick so that when it becomes a fully grown hen it will provide you with free-range eggs. You look after it well, ensuring that it is healthy. But if you become impatient and stop looking after it because it is not growing up as quickly as you want, you will never achieve what you want. Similar is the case for when you supplicate to Allah. There is nothing wrong in asking Allah to hasten in responding to your Du'a, however, giving up and leaving Du'a on the basis that you aren't getting what you want quickly will only delay your Du'a being answered. Don't become impatient. Allah knows when the time is right, better than you. We make mistakes all the time, but does Allah get impatient with us? Remain consistent in your supplications, you will never be disappointed.
