Healthcare of the Surgical patient in this region suffers from the lack of integrated and up-to-date centres of healthcare. Many treatment options available to local patients are limited in scope and often outdated. Regional patients frequently travel to megapolitan areas of Lahore, Islamabad or Karachi, or even abroad in order to seek treatment of complex surgical ailments. This translates into significant added costs and inconvenience to the patient, and has the potential of translating into poorer outcomes, should complications arise for which relevant skilled rescue is not available closeby. Our Tumor Board provides Comprehensive Care and planning of Patients with Organ Cancer. This is a pro bono service, aimed at disseminating good healthcare practices throughout the regional healthcare system for the greater benefit of the patients. These include, but are not limited to, Breast Conservation Surgery for Breast Cancer, Laparoscopic Upper and Lower GI surgery for colorectal and Upper GI neoplasms and various other modalities, which can be discussed in detail, in person. We offer a wide and exhaustive variety of advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgical options, including some regional, and a few Pakistani "Firsts" for our patients. Pre-operative image-guided mapping of the surgical procedure in 3-D virtual space allows precise planning of the intervention, promising to increase the success, and further decrease the invasiveness of the procedure.
