Today Dr. Iqbal Aziz, Director of Inspection and Operation, Health Department Gilgit-Baltistan, conducted an official visit to the Gilgit Cardiac Hospital.Dr. Iqbal Aziz was welcomed by Dr. Farmanullah MS Gilgit Cardiac Hospital & Engr Shahid Masood PD Gilgit Cardiac Hospital, Dr. Farmanullah presented a comprehensive overview of the hospital's performance metrics, emphasizing the critical role the hospital plays in delivering specialized cardiac care in the region.
Engr. Shahid Masood, Project Director, discussed upcoming initiatives focused on enhancing the hospital's capabilities. A key highlight was the procurement of new biomedical equipment aimed at boosting the hospital's diagnostic and treatment capacities through the integration of state-of-the-art technology.
Dr. Iqbal Aziz conducted a tour of the hospital facilities, visiting key areas including the CT Scan room, Radio fluoroscopy unit, angiography units, emergency wards, and laboratory facilities. During the tour, he interacted with the medical staff and assessed the operational status of the equipment. During his visit he also distributed Hospital Uniform amoung the Hospital Staff .The visit aimed to review the hospital's operations, achievements, and future initiatives in providing specialized cardiac care to the residents of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Today, Dr. Farmanullah,Medical Superintendent, Gilgit Cardiac Hospital, met with the Director Finances of RIC at Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC) to discuss the financial model of RIC. The meeting aimed to explore financial strategies that could improve the operational efficiency and sustainability of Gilgit Cardiac Hospital. Key topics included funding mechanisms and cost management strategies. The discussions focused on identifying best practices and innovative solutions to enhance financial performance while maintaining quality patient care.

Today, Secretary Health Mr. Asif ullah Khan accompanied by the Additional Secretary Health, visited Gilgit Cardiac Hospital to inspect the newly installed medical facilities, including a CT scan unit, an angiography unit, and a radio fluoroscopy system. During the visit, they discussed the imminent launch of the hospital's Radiology Department, which will offer services such as cardiac CT scans, radio fluoroscopy, and two angiography units. Dr. Farmanullah , Medical Superintendent, briefed the Secretary about the human resources challenges faced in operating both the radiology and cath lab departments.
Additionally, he presented sustainable business model for the hospital's operations. Project Director Engr. Shahid Masood provided updates on the supply orders of biomedical equipment necessary for the hospital's functioning.

A meeting was held today at Gilgit Cardiac Hospital to discuss the imminent launch of Angiography, Cardiac CT Scan, Echo, ETT, and Radio Fluoroscopy services. In preparation for this milestone, Dr. Farmanullah, Medical Superintendent, has nominated two radiology department staff members to undergo training at RIC Rawalpindi for one month. This training will enable them to acquire the necessary expertise to operate and manage these cutting-edge imaging services effectively, ensuring the hospital's radiology department is fully equipped to provide high-quality patient care.

Today, staff at Gilgit Cardiac Hospital gathered to reaffirm their commitment to optimizing Pharmacovigilance (PV) practices, aimed at safeguarding the well-being of patients.The event was hosted by Dr. Ejazullah Baig, Pharmacy Department Gilgit Cardiac Hospital. He presented the critical relevance of Pharmacovigilance within our healthcare system, emphasizing the importance of monitoring the safety of medications.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Farmanullah, Medical Superintendent, reiterated the importance of implementing PV protocols in accordance with the guidelines set forth by WHO and the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), as well as the National and Provincial Pharmacovigilance Centers.
Together, we are committed to enhancing patient safety through diligent pharmacovigilance practices.

On the occasion of Ashura procession in Gilgit, Gilgit Cardiac Hospital Team lead by Dr Yawar Mehdi along with other member Paramedic Ahsan Karim and Driver Imran Ali performed their duties of ashura. Team provided emergency medical care and free medicines to the participants of ashura under the directions of Medical Superintendent GCH Dr Farman Ullah.

Gilgit, 26 June, 2025– Mr. Shakeel Khan, Chief Monitoring Officer of the Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives (PD&SI) Islamabad, paid a visit to the Gilgit Cardiac Hospital to assess the ongoing services and patient care provided by the facility. During his visit, Mr. Shakeel Khan was briefed by Medical Superintendent Dr. Farmanullah and his team on the hospital's patient flow and the range of services being offered. From September 2023 to June 2025, the Gilgit Cardiac Hospital has successfully catered to 8,852 cardiac patients.

Today on 31 May, 2025 Dr. Farmanullah, Medical Superintendent,Project Director Engr. Shahid Masood and AO/DBO Inamullah, conducted an official visit to Gilgit Institute of Nuclear Medicine, Oncology and Radiotherapy (GINOR) meet with Director GINOR Dr Asif Jillani.
