Oral sex is causing an “epidemic” of throat cancer, with the practice being more damaging than smoking, boozing and a bad diet.

It is now more common than cervical cancer in the UK and US, an expert has said.

Dr Hisham Mehanna, from the UK’s University of Birmingham, said people with multiple oral sex partners were more than eight times more likely to develop the cancer.

Dr Mehanna said: “Over the past two decades, there has been a rapid increase in throat cancer in the West, to the extent that some have called it an epidemic.

امریکی صدر ڈونلڈ ٹرمپ نے غیر ملکی ہنر مند افراد کے لیے ملازمت پر مبنی ویزا پروگرام H-1B کی فیس میں غیر معمولی اضافہ کرتے ہوئے اسے 1500 ڈالر سے بڑھا کر سالانہ ایک لاکھ ڈالر کرنے کا اعلان کر دیا ہے۔ یہ نیا قانون 21 ستمبر 2025 سے مؤثر ہوگا اور اس تاریخ کے بعد جمع ہونے والی تمام نئی درخواستوں پر لاگو ہوگا۔

ٹرمپ انتظامیہ کے مطابق اس اقدام کا مقصد امریکی ملازمین کو ترجیح دینا اور غیر ملکی ہنر مندوں پر انحصار کم کرنا ہے۔ صدر ٹرمپ نے کہا کہ کمپنیاں سستے غیر ملکی ملازمین لا کر مقامی ٹیلنٹ کو نظر انداز کرتی ہیں، جو اب مزید برداشت نہیں کیا جائے گا۔
