Haji Muhammad Alam (late) started this business as the owner of a small ration depot in Mozang, Lahore. For about twenty years he provided quality food such as sugar and flour to the people in that area. With unwavering determination and high spirits he started a small flour mills by the name of Aslam Flour Mills in Gujranwala. In 1968 Sheikh Muhammad Alam's sons, including Mr. Maqsood Ahmed, joined him with full dedication and devotion. They too learnt the true art of making quality flour. Led by their belief in Almighty Allah . their straight forward business ethics, their broad vision and their willingness to provide the best quality of flour to their Pakistani brethren, these committed entrepreneurs established in February 1974 the Eatmad Flour & General Mills (Pvt) Ltd, which was one of the most advanced flour mills at that time, After that they inaugurated Alam Roller Flour Mills in 1978 and Maqsood Flour & General Mills (Pvt) Ltd, in 1988. In 2002, Shahzads Group became the first (flour mills group to install the most modern wheat procurement equipment known as grain-storing silos in all its premises, with a storage capacity of about 100,000 tons. Today the Company has increased its capacity from 280 Mt. of flour per day to roughly 560 Mt. of flour per day in collaboration with Hajvary Flour & General Mills.

OUR TEAM

Our team at Shahzads Group comprises of dedicated professionals who belives in perfection and customer satisfaction.

1. The Chairman of the Group is Haji Maqsood Ahmed. This business icon was formerly the Chairman of Pakistan Flour Mills Association.

2. Khurram Shahzad is the Director Operations of Shahzads Group and and Executive Member of IAOM (International Association of Operative Millers). He has also been associated with Switzerland's Buhler School of Milling and with National Association of British and Irish Millers (NABIM).

3. The Director Marketing, Mr. Ahmad Shahzad is an executive alumni of Harvard Business School, of London School of Economics, of Pakistan Institute of Management, and of Lahore University of Management Sciences. He is the former Vice Chairman of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry Flour Mills Committee (FPCCI), too. He had also previously served in the Flour Fortification Project of the Ministry of Health as an Honorary Convener.

4. The Director Quality Assurance is Mr. Farrukh Shahzad , Executive Member of IAOM (International Association of Operative Millers). He is currently studying in Kansas State University of America. He will hopefully win for all of us accolades and awards by being the first Pakistani to graduate in flour milling from such a prestigious university.

REUNITE PAKISTAN - VOTE

Precautions during Election Day:

• Visit your concerned Polling station early morning (Polling starts at 8am and will continue till 5pm).
• Must take water, biscuits and sweets along, as you might get stranded in long queues.
• Park your vehicle at a safe parking space.
• Do NOT handover your CNIC to any stranger.
• Crowded places are hunting grounds for pickpocketers, therefore secure your belongings.
• Do NOT carry items you don’t need (credit cards, debit cards, other valuable items).
• Educate children over 18 years, not to indulge in any unnecessary arguments with political parties and their youth wings.
• Avoid taking your minor children along.
• Avoid unnecessary arguments with following people:
Election Commission/Polling Staff, LEAs Political workers etc.
• Do NOT take your cellular phone as it is not allowed. Keep them at home as most likely cellular services will be jammed on Election Day
• Keep Emergency cash at home – ATMs could be out of cash.

Roasted Broccoli and Sweet Potatoes with steak (beef) and mushrooms

Ingredients (4 servings):
- 400 g fresh broccoli
- 400g sweet potato
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- olive oil
- Salt
- Fresh black pepper
- 500 g steak (beef)
- 300 g mushrooms
- 250 low fat cream

Directions:
-Preheat oven to 450
- Wash and dry broccoli and sweet potato thoroughly.
- Cut florets from the stalk and set aside.
- Cut sweet potato into even sized cubes.
- Place broccoli and sweet potatoes into a large bowl and drizzles with olive oil (you can also do this without using oil). Just enough to lightly coat.
- Toss to distribute the oil.
- Place broccoli and sweet potatoes on a foil-lined baking sheet in a single layer.
- Sprinkle with minced garlic, salt and fresh black pepper.
- Baked for 12-14 minutes or until sweet potatoes are tender and broccoli is lightly browned
on the tips.
- Heat up a pan (with a bit olive or coconut oil or cooking spray)
- Grill the steak an add the mushrooms
- Take the steak out and put it on a plate to rest for a few minutes
- Let the mushrooms fry for a few minutes
- Put the mushrooms on a plate
- Put the low fat cream in the pan on a low fire, let it thicken
- serve the steak with mushrooms and put a bit of the thickened cream over it, as a side dish serve the roasted sweet potato and broccoli.

Crispy sweet and sour tofu


Ingredients (2 servings):
- 140 g pineapple (canned pineapple in pineapple juice)
- 200 g extra firm tofu
- 20 g sesame seeds
- 1 teaspoon corn starch
- fresh ginger (minced)
- 2 little red bell peppers (paprika)
- chilli powder
- fresh black pepper
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce


Directions:
- Wrap tofu with paper towels and place on a cutting board.
- Put a heavy plate on top to press out liquid for approximately 20 minutes.
- Dry drained tofu with paper towels and cube.
- Put the sesame seeds on a plate.
- Roll each cube tofu in the sesame seeds. Push every side in of the tofu in the sesame seeds so they all fully covered
- Heat a bit oil in deep frying pan.
- Fry tofu until golden brown
- Take the tofu out of the pan and put it on a plate (make sure you keep it warm)
- Clean and cut the bell peppers in little pieces
- Heat up a pan with a bit oil
- Add the bell peppers and the fresh ginger. Stir fry for 2 minutes
- Add the pieces pineapple, the fresh black pepper and the chilli powder
- Mix the pineapple juice and soy sauce with the teaspoon corn starch
- Add this to the pan with pineapple, ginger and bell pepper
- let it simmer for a few minutes
- Stir until thickened
- Serve and enjoy
