It was a great experience to visit and help the needy people of flood affected areas in south Punjab.
Al-Khidmat Foundation established the biggest "Tent City" of Pakistan in Jalal Pur Peer Wala, Shuja Abad, a remote area of Multan. This "Khaima Basti" consisted of 300 camps with an average of 6-7 family members in each camp. It served the residents for one whole month. The volunteers from all over Pakistan especially KPK, worked day and night providing them every basic commodity of life including Food, shelter, Clothes, hospital, school, masjid, recreation etc.
Tankers of RO (filtered) water plants provided uninterrupted supply of clean water in camps as well as affected area.
Mobile health unit continued medical and diagnostic facility in remote areas with qualified doctors, nurses and paramedics.
They treated pregnant women and delivered more than hundred babies with Normal delivery and facilitated a lot for operations in their respective referral center in Multan.
In fact I am caught with a pleasant surprise to see all this disaster management with ambition and energy.
Representing PMA/PIMA Gujranwala, I reached there and participated in relief activities like Ration distribution, Medical Camp and Mobile Health Service.
I think these chosen people are going to get the real reward from Allah for their empathy and dedication towards humanity.
God bless all who contributed in terms of funds, facilitated the working teams and committed volunteers serving on ground.
