I am pleased to share our recently published research in the Journal of Clinical & Medical Case Reports, Images titled:
“The Effect of Retro Walking vs Slump Stretch on Hamstring Flexibility in Asymptomatic Female Population – A Comparative Study.”
🧠 Background:
Hamstring tightness is a common finding even in asymptomatic individuals and can negatively affect flexibility and functional performance. Evidence exists for both retro walking and slump stretching, but comparative clinical data has been limited.
📊 Key Findings:
Our 6-week comparative study involving 60 asymptomatic female participants demonstrated that:
• Slump Stretch improved hamstring flexibility by 11.37%
• Retro Walking showed an improvement of 5.86%
(assessed using the Sit & Reach Test)
✅ Conclusion:
Slump stretching was found to be more effective than retro walking in improving hamstring flexibility.
📚 This research contributes to evidence-based physiotherapy practice and may help clinicians make informed decisions while designing flexibility programs.
