🛑Toothpaste amounts by age:
🔅0–3 years: A smear or a "grain of rice" sized amount.
🔅3–6 years: A pea-sized amount.
🔅Over 6 years: A pea-sized amount, with some recommendations suggesting up to the full length of the brush, especially when their manual dexterity is more developed.
🛑Important tips for brushing:
🔅Supervise: Supervise children while they brush until they are around 7 or 8 years old to ensure they are using the correct technique and amount and not swallowing too much toothpaste.
🔅Spit, don't rinse: After brushing, encourage your child to spit out the toothpaste. Rinsing with water will wash away the beneficial fluoride.
🔅Brush twice a day: Brush teeth for two minutes, twice a day, preferably before bed and at least one other time.
🔅Use the right toothpaste: Use a children's fluoride toothpaste that has a fluoride concentration between 1,000 and 1,500 ppm.
Professional Flouride treatment is avialable.
