The name of Akbar Ali Hospital has been set in the loving memory of our deceased brother Akbar Ali Choudhary. It was his dream to send our family’s children abroad to acquire the best education in medicine and to establish a hospital for the welfare of our local residents in the area. This hospital will serve the under privilege of the community and will provide quality healthcare with an affordable cost.
Although there are many hospitals working for the welfare of people in Pakistan however, these healthcare establishments and other related government hospitals are not enough to meet the increasing demand for quality healthcare of the community. Therefore, there is a need for capacity building of healthcare institutions for the under privileged of our society. We have done our part to establish such an institution and with the grace of Almighty, out-door patient department (OPD) has already started working to serve the community.
Furthermore, in order to make this project self-sustain in continuing its operations without depending on continued funding, the hospital has devised the following methodology to impart quality healthcare tailored for each individual’s specific socioeconomic conditions to reach the masses.
1. Dispensary & medication(s) for the Poor of the community:
The hospital will provide free check up and three days medicines for common ailments like cold, flu, cough etc against the fee of Rs. 50 only for the under privileged of the society. A qualified dispenser under the supervision of MBBS doctors will be on duty to perform this job. If the patient is not getting better after the treatment than the medical doctor will perform the check-up and provide medicines accordingly in the same fee.
2. OPD and IPD for the middle class of the community:
A out-door patient department and Indoor patient department will be set up to serve the middle class families of the community where qualified MBBS doctors and general physicians will see the patients and provide treatment accordingly. The general check up fee for this category is just Rs. 200 along with discounted medicines and medical laboratory investigations as compared with other healthcare establishments of similar nature.
3. Specialist consultation for the privileged class of the community:
The offices of American Board Certified Specialist Doctors will provide medical consultations to the people who want to get treated from them. The consultation fee for seeing a specialist doctor will be Rs. 1000/- in the first visit followed by discounted fee for the follow up visits. This fee is exclusive of pharmacy and medical laboratory investigations (if any).
4. Tele-Medicine Clinic:
For the first time in Gujrat and surrounding area, the hospital plans to launch a tele-medicine clinic for the patients who have been referred abroad for treatment. Now these patients don’t have to spend millions in travel and logging expenses and can consult with specialty doctors overseas (USA) through e-consultation by attending our tele-medicine clinic against a very reasonable fee of Rs. 3000 per e-consult. This facility will be a sigh of relief for the patients who have tried all options in Pakistan for treatment of their aliment to no avail.
Research Center:
Our welfare hospital will be unique and differentiate itself from other similar health settings by going an extra mile to set up a research center. The core research activities in this center will revolve around combining the old and new techniques in medicines to explore better options for treatment, a discipline commonly known to as Integrated Alternative Medicine within medical fraternity. IAM normally uses techniques such as Cupping therapy, Acupuncture/ Acupressure, Ayurvedic, Chinese medicine as well as Tib-e-Nabwi in combination with modern medicine to deliver quality healthcare. Through this discipline the patients will be treated with latest equipment and techniques to provide them cutting edge healthcare solutions in reasonable fee.
Other Facilities:
In addition to the above, the hospital will be equipped with following facilities to provide continued healthcare services to the community within easy access and affordability of common man.
(i) Infusion Center / Hospital @ Home
(ii) Emergency Room
(iii) Operation Theater
(iv) ICU/CCU
