Vaccines Do Veterinary Workers Need?

Veterinary workers have a high chance of being exposed to a variety of infections. These vaccinations are the best form of protection: hepatitis B, rabies, Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis), influenza.

Hepatitis B –
Blood & Body Fluids –
Liver infection commonly spread through needles, medical equipment or direct contact with body fluids. Vaccination is the best form of protection.
Influenza –
Airborne –
Provides high protection against virus. Recommended on an annual basis.
Rabies –
Saliva of Infected Animals –
Vaccination is highly recommended for those involved in animal care.
TDAP (Tetanus, Diphtheria & Pertussis) –
Wounds & Airborne –
A tetanus booster vaccination is recommended for all adults once every ten years.
