On 27 January 2026, Isra University Hospital, Hyderabad conducted an Academic Presentation Session focused on Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and its management. The program was organized by the Department of Medicine under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Adnan Bawany, Chairperson and Head of the Department of Medicine.

An academic presentation was delivered by Dr. Inshal Awan on the topic:
“Glimepiride + Metformin in Type 2 Diabetes Management: From Clinical Studies to Bedside Practice.”
The presentation emphasized evidence-based therapeutic strategies, clinical trial data, and practical decision-making in the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

Following the presentation, Prof. Dr. Adnan Bawany summarized and elaborated on the topic, highlighting real-world clinical application and patient-centered treatment approaches. Dr. Ghulam Fareed shared valuable academic reviews and insights, further enriching the discussion.

Simulation Workshop on Life Conducted at Isra University Hospital, Hyderabad.

On 24 December 2025, a workshop “Simulation for Life” was conducted at Isra University Hospital, Hyderabad, arranged by Dr. Sunil Maheshwari, the Assistant Professor, Medicine, Isra University Hyderabad.

The event took place on the auspices of Isra University Hyderabad in partnership with the Health Zone and the Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine and was sponsored by the ATCO Laboratories Limited.

The program involved clinical training done through practical and simulation based and was mainly done on cardiovascular and respiratory system emergencies. A manikin with high level of fidelity was used, and it is AI-enabled to respond to commands and act like a real patient, which offered the participants authentic learning experience in the clinic setting.

Dr. Sunil Maheshwari, Dr. Hafsa Urooj and Prof. Akram Munir were in charge of the cardiovascular simulation session. The participants were trained to identify various pulse characters, apex beat discoveries and several heart murmurs.

Dr. Saima Siraj, the Associate Professor of Pulmonology, and Dr. Sunil Maheshwari were in charge of the respiratory simulation session. This session demystified knowledge that was associated with normal and abnormal breathing patterns as well as various respiratory sounds.

After the simulating sessions, the members were training Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). It also held a competitive event, called CPR Race wherein prizes were awarded to the participants in a competition where Dr. Safiyan Ahmed Memon, an Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, supervised the exercise.

Prof. Muhammad Adnan Bawany, Chairman, Department of Medicine, and Secretary, Pakistan Society of internal medicine, issued certificates at the end of the workshop.

The faculty, postgraduate trainees, and house officers of Isra University Hyderabad participated in the workshop, which was highly valued as an educational and beneficial learning process.

ISRA University Hospital inauguarates Urogynecology ward

On 18 December of 2025, there was a Postgraduate Case Presentation Program, as well as the inauguration of the Urogynecology Ward.

The show was opened with the recitation of the Holy Quran and the National Anthem. Professor Pushpa Srichand gave a welcome speech and strongly supported all guests in attendance by noting the significance of postgraduate academic practice and the opening of the Urogynecology Ward.

It was then succeeded by a speech by Prof. Dr. Khalid Iqbal Talpur who pointed out the impact of structured training and specialized services on enhancing patient care. The Director, Isra University hospital, Dr. Sajjad Kazi, recognized the work of the department and the relevance of opening a special Ward focused on the Urogynecology service to women.

Isra University Hospital is Paying a Smile Train Delegation Visit.

HYDERABAD- In a major move in providing liberal healthcare services, Madam Asma Qadri, Country Head of Smile Train, and Dr. Usman Jahangir, the celebrated plastic surgeon and Smile Train ally, had paid a visit to Isra University Hospital (IUH) to discuss further arrangements of free cleft lip and palate surgeries.

The delegation involved active consultative talks with the Director, Isra University Hospital, Hyderabad, Dr. Sajjad Kazi, and clinical heads to develop a smooth and safety-oriented operating room. The talks with Dr. Raja Sirichand, who is the Head of the Department of Anesthesiology, were considered significant meetings.

An interview with the Dean, Faculty of Dentistry and Allied Sciences, Dr. Salman Shafique, also took place, in order to organize the long-term care that cleft patients may need with orthodontics. Besides that, the team held meetings with the Hospital Management team to optimize patient registration, allocation of the ward, and logistical roadmap related to the future surgical camps.

The Ceramic Dental Laboratory at Prosthodontics Department of Isra Dental College, Hyderabad, was inaugurated on 28th November 2025, under the vision of further advancement in the field of Prosthodontics. This facility marks a significant milestone in the commitment to advancing dental education, research, and patient care. The laboratory is equipped with ceramic processing units and advanced materials to provide students and faculty with hands-on experience in contemporary prosthodontics and restorative dentistry.

Ribbon-cutting and formal inauguration ceremony was led by Dr. Salman Shafique and Dr. Maqsood Ahmed Soomro. The ceremony was organized by Dr. Farzana Memon with support from faculty of prosthodontics department and Mr. Shahbaz, ceramic dental lab technician.

On 5 December 2025, Isra University Hospital Hyderabad held a Dengue Appreciation Ceremony in honour of the team who carried the burden of the dengue outbreak with strength and unity. With 298 admissions and an exceptional 93% recovery rate, this gathering reflected gratitude toward those who made it possible.

Acknowledgment was first given to Dr. Sajjad Kazi (Director IUH) for administrative leadership, maintaining service flow, expanding dengue wards and ensuring uninterrupted facility support. Appreciation followed for Prof. Dr. Adnan Bawany (HOD Medicine) for his clinical supervision, decision-making guidance and mentorship to treating teams. Equal gratitude was extended to Mr. Uzair Arain (Hospital Manager) for sustaining OPD, ER and ward functioning with coordination and operational discipline.

On 06 December 2025, Isra University Hyderabad organized a Free Gynaecology Camp, on the directions of Worthy Director IUH Dr. Sajjad Kazi, aimed at providing essential healthcare services to tfhe local community.This one-day event is a testament to the university's dedication to promoting feminine well-being.

Dr. Farhana Anjum Professor in Gynaecology and OBS at Isra University offered free consultations, Free Medications, Health Awareness & Education, and free ultrasound.

The doctors not only diagnosed conditions but also provided preventative guidance and treatment recommendations to help manage female reproductive illnesses and disorders.

A dedicated team of doctors, nurses, and volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth functioning of the camp.

The camp was also supported by Isra University, which played a pivotal role in organizing the event. Isra University Hospital, in collaboration with GLR, proudly announced the successful completion of a One-Day Symposium and Live Bariatric Surgery event on Friday, 5th December 2025. The program was designed to enhance surgical education, foster teamwork, and improve patient care through advanced techniques and expert guidance.
The event was smoothly hosted by Dr. Alishba Kaimkhani, Dr. Zainab, and Ms. Mehwish Baloch. It commenced with a heartfelt recitation by Dr. Zainab, followed by a warm welcome address from Dr. Altaf Hussain Jatoi. The session featured an insightful presentation by International Master Trainer Dr. Syed Imran Abbas from the Iranian Hospital Dubai, who highlighted the significance and benefits of bariatric surgery. The Chief Guest, Dr. Sajjad Kazi, Director of Isra Hospital, lauded the efforts of the organizing team and underscored the growing importance of bariatric procedures.
A live bariatric surgery demonstration was performed, followed by an interactive Q&A session where participants engaged directly with the surgeon. The WHO Team and Global Fund for TB Control Programme conducted an official visit to the Isra University Hospital TB Center, on 28th November, 2025 where they evaluated the ongoing tuberculosis diagnostic and treatment services being provided. The delegation was received by the Head of Pulmonology Department and Focal Person of TB Center, Dr. Saima Siraj, and Colonel Iftikhar who briefed the team on the achievements, workflow and future objectives of the centre.

Dr. Saima Siraj highlighted that Isra University TB Center has been fully functional since 2023, providing free diagnosis, treatment, preventive therapy, GeneXpert testing, contact screening and follow-up care — all accessible to the community without cost. The visiting team appreciated that despite being part of the private sector, Isra University Hospital is offering public-benefit TB services with high commitment, systematic management and well-maintained protocols.
